Celebrating student voices, one theme at a time.

Bulldog Tales &Thoughtful ThemesCelebrating student voices, one theme at a time.

Who and what?

Students in 3rd and 4th grade have the option of writing and/or drawing something related to our assigned themes. They can relate the theme to a book they have read or listened to, they can relate it to a personal experience, or they can write their own original story related to our theme. This is done on the students' own time. They may choose to work on it at home, or when they complete all class work and have some free time to work on other assignments (at their teachers' discretion). Every piece of work you see on this page will be from a student who chose to go above and beyond to submit his or her work. We are so proud of them all! Please take a look and enjoy our thoughtful themes, brought to you by the students of Rice Elementary School.

Honesty and Integrity

by Zuri Fields

Hi i'm Scarlett I have blonde hair, hazel eyes, and i'm 5'8. There's this new girl name Joanna she a snob always being mean to someone! I stood up for Jamie last week because of Joanna saying he was ugly for having a birthmark on his chin, and I wasn't going to just stand around, people NEED TO TAKE ACTION WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE DOING THE WRONG THING! Yes I might have gotten detention for calling her a butt-head, but still TAKE ACTION! This week while I was minding my business Joanna pushed me! I stayed calm and ask her why she did that? She said '' Because I can!'' then she stuck her tongue out at me. So I told a teacher what happened and the DID NOT take action. When Joanna was called over she acted oblivous to the scenario! Then I got in trouble!!!! After all these encounters I finally spoke up and choose integrity instead of fighting. I stood on a lunchroom table and talked about how Joanna has done stuff to people and we told the teacher and they did not take action! So we got together and did a peaceful protest against people who don't show integrity or honesty to others!

Ms, Good and my other teachers have the same characteristics. I have 5 teachers and one of their names is Mrs, Andrews she is very pretty, and kind. The 2nd teacher Mrs,White she is very funny and she makes us laugh a lot like Mrs,Valdiva and Mrs.Good, Mrs. Stewert makes everyone laugh. Mrs Good is all of those things. Teachers work hard so children can know stuff.

You Can Be Kind

by Elizabeth O., 4th grade

Had you ever been kind to someone? Well in this case your going to find out in this story! So always your teacher is kind. Your friend is too. But you ask yourself,'' How do I become Kind to someone?''. So you help someone, or even ask your mom for help in the kitchen. Another way is to help a person on the street. Mrs.Good and Mrs.Towles are kind. Everyone is kind and even how they look doesn't mean you pick on them.
