September Character Trait of the month is Love

September is the month of love at CCA. A Bible verse we can look to to remember how to love others is, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a "Love is patient, kind, and never ends. It does not boast, envy, or insist on its own way."

Three students were interviewed and asked, “What do you think of when you think of love?” Korvin from 4th grade said, “My parents love for me.” Sarah from 8th grade said, “Being kind to others.” Oliver from 10th grade said, “God’s love for us.” --Brooklyn

Class Spotlight: K4

Kynlee observed K4 to see what they learned in their second week of school. When she got to their classroom, students were singing and dancing to “The Good Morning Song.” When the song was over, they all sat down on the floor and began to sing the months of the year and days of the week songs. Aspen led the class in the calendar and the weather. Students then named a few fruits and colored a fruit page. While they were coloring they talked quietly to each other and sang a few songs. Finally, it was time for Pledges; K4 pledged to the American flag, Christian flag and Bible. After pledges, students learned a Bible story about David, who was in the fields obeying his dad, being brave by protecting the sheep, and answered questions about it.

Celebrate Freedom Week

Celebrate Freedom Week was started in Texas by Rick Green while serving as a state representative in March of 2001. The point of celebrating freedom is to invest in the next generation and make sure that American exceptionalism is instilled in hearts and minds. According to Texas Education Agency, each year, during the week that includes September 17, schools honor Celebrate Freedom Week to highlight the values and ideals on which the United States was founded, as-well-as the sacrifices that were made for freedom in the founding of the country. Students at CCA learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights.

This country needs our help to ensure that every student in America is learning the principles of freedom in our founding documents, and since CCA is a Patriotic school, that is why we are choosing to celebrate freedom this week! --Sophia

Survey Says:

This week’s survey says question was, “Do you like apple pie or pumpkin pie better? Sixty-one students were surveyed and Pumpkin pie won with 32 votes; however, it was close with apple pie having 29 votes. Fun fact, pumpkin pie was first served at the pilgrims second Thanksgiving after arriving in America. --Maggie

Chapel

CCA chapel was opened by 5th grade on Friday with pledges and prayer. The chapel presenter was Pastor Joey Conway from North East Baptist Church, and he talked about optical illusions. An optical illusion is something that deceives the eye by appearing to be other than it is. He then showed us several different optical illusions. There have been illusions ever since the Garden of Eden when Satan played a trick on Eve. A Bible verse that he shared with us was, 1 Corinthians 3:18, and it says, “Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” Satan has been studying mankind for several thousand of years, but us believers are not a match for him, but only with the help of God.

Some main points that he left us with were: we should chose to be a fool for Christ instead of caring if the world likes us, and we should be aware if all think well of us, or if everyone always thinks highly of you because not everyone will like how Christians have put their faith in Jesus.

Soccer Action: CCA vs CPRS

Clinton Christian Academy Patriots hosted the Center Place Eagles for a home match-up on September 9th. In all the previous games against CPRS, CCA has lost to the Eagles. The Patriots came out on the field with a strong offense, excellent communication, and teamwork like no other. Thirteen minutes into the game, Mason scored a goal. CPRS answered back with determination and they scored. Right before half-time, Collin scored off of a penalty kick making the score was 2-1.

Hadley, the goal keeper, stopped a penalty kick from CPRS. Colton had a great assist to Mason, who made a goal. The final score was 3-1, Patriots were victorious! This was the first time in school history that the Patriots beat the Eagles. They have worked hard for this win, and it was an exciting game. Senior Fundraising Senior Fundraising

Our 2025 CCA Seniors are raising money for their senior trip which is partly a mission trip and partly a fun trip. They will be going to southeast Georgia to work in a food pantry, and Christian camp for foster children.

This year, our seniors also have an opportunity to go on CCA's very first out of country mission trip to Belize. Money raised will first go towards the Senior trip to Georgia/Florida but we have hope that if enough money is raised it will cover some of the cost to their Belize trip.

Orders have been placed for the Laundry Soap fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who supported our seniors by purchasing.

CCA Seniors also sell homemade cookies every Thursday morning! Students love this! Just $1

The CCA Seniors will have a Yard Sale in November. Mrs. Hyke will send out more information later but please fill free to save and donate your yard sale items to them to sell!

Thank you so so much for all the love, prayers and support!

4H

On Thursday, September 12th at 6:30pm, 4-H held their first meeting of the year. This meeting was open to parents and students, and the purpose was for them to learn what 4-H has to offer. Many families attended this meeting. The question at roll call was, “What is your favorite subject in school?” Club leader, Sarah Kernohan, talked about the 4-H Clover Kids, ages 5-7. This program consisted of Club Leader, Rosalyn Wisniewski, presenting a slideshow of what the Club has done in the last year. This slideshow included the opportunities that are available through 4-H, as-well-as some pictures of last year's 4-H events. As a new addition, Mrs. Gwen Fischer is now helping with the High School 4-H. A lot of fun is in store for the 4-H year ahead!

  • The next meeting will be held on October 6th at Darby and Sarah Kernohans house at 2pm.

If you have any questions or are interested in joining 4-H, please contact Rosalyn Wisniewski @ 660-525-2346. --Allie
