It is hard to believe that August is already here! Summer is flying by, and camp continues to be in full swing here at Woodland! From lightsabers to stage lights, our campers have been fully immersed in the magic of Star Wars Camp and Summer Stage, where creativity, collaboration, and plenty of fun take center stage.

We’re also busy behind the scenes making improvements across campus. Classrooms in Ivy Manor are getting a fresh coat of paint, and we’re actively working on our strategic plan to guide Woodland’s future growth and success.

There’s still more excitement to come! We’re looking forward to No-Bake Baking Camp and a colorful, creative week in Wacky Art Lab.

As we approach the start of the school year, we’re seeking to expand our team of Extended Day Staff. If you or someone you know, might enjoy spending time with our amazing students in the afternoons, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether it’s a high school senior, a recent grad, a grandparent, or a neighbor, we’d love to connect.

We’re also hoping to expand our substitute teacher list. Even being available just a few days a month makes a big difference.

Please refer to the detailed uniform guidelines in the Parent-Student Handbook as well as the Uniform Overview found on the myWCDS tab on our website (link below).

A quick reminder: this year, only the navy and gold tie from Land’s End is permitted as part of the uniform.

Uniforms can be purchased directly from Land’s End using our school number 900043506, or through our Uniform Exchange for gently used items. The uniform exchange is open during our summer hours, 9:00 - 2:00.

Thank you for helping us keep our school spirit and appearance sharp!

Just a friendly reminder that students entering grades 2 through 8 have required summer reading. The reading lists for each grade are also available on our website under the "Summer" tab.

Additionally, a reminder that students entering First Grade may turn in an optional reading log as well.

Please take a moment to review the list and help your child stay on track before the school year begins. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the office. Happy reading!

Several of our teachers have created Amazon Wish Lists with items that would support their classrooms and students this year. There is absolutely no obligation, but if you feel inclined to help, we wanted to make these lists available to you.

Get ready to run, walk, or cheer! The Panther Prowl 5K and Fun Run will take place on Saturday, September 28th at 9:00 AM, and we’d love to see you there. This fun-filled event is open to all ages and is a great way to support our school community. Lace up your sneakers and sign up today to be part of the excitement!

When making a payment via Zelle, please remember to include what the payment is for and the name of your child(ren) in the notes section. Please return any forms as well. This helps us process your payment correctly. Even If not listed on a form, you may still pay via Zelle.
