Winter Break is Over & The Students Are Back for 2026

🌟 STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL MONDAY, JAN 5th 🌟
Dear Rice Lake Families and Students,
Welcome back from Winter Break! We hope this time away brought opportunities to rest, reconnect with loved ones, and enjoy special moments together. As we return to school, we are excited to welcome our students back and begin this next chapter of learning, growth, and community.
During the first days back, our staff will be intentionally focusing on reconnecting and rebuilding our school community. Classrooms will spend time in Morning Meetings and circle activities, giving students space to share, listen, and reconnect with one another after the long break. These moments help everyone feel welcomed, supported, and ready to learn.
This week, on Monday, January 5, and Tuesday, January 6, our school will participate in a Boot Camp Reboot. During this time, teachers, specialists, and educational support professionals will work together to review and re-teach schoolwide expectations. This helps ensure consistency, clarity, and a positive learning environment across classrooms, hallways, recess, and all school spaces.
Families can expect that students will also be reviewing classroom routines and procedures and revisiting schoolwide lessons throughout the week. These reminders help students feel confident, safe, and successful as we settle back into our school routines.
As a reminder, it is vital that we follow the drop off and pick up procedures to ensure the safety of our students and your beautiful children. School begins at 8:40am, please have your students to school on time as for many it can create anxiety walking into school and class when others are already engaging in community building and learning.
We are grateful for our partnership with you and look forward to a strong start as we return from break. Thank you for supporting your child and our Rice Lake community.
Warmly,
Diane Bagley
