Parking Lot Procedures

Student Arrival Procedures

Students arriving to school via the BUS will enter through Door #2 (300 Wing), Door #4A (900 Wing) and Door #4B (400/500 Wing). Students will be granted permission to disembark the school bus by a staff member no earlier than 8:40 AM.

Students that are being dropped off by CAR should arrive no earlier than 8:30 AM. Car drop-off will occur in front of the building along the long curb. Once on property, cars turn left and stack a single file line through the parking lot making their way patiently toward the concrete sidewalk. We ask that cars pull all the way forward as much as possible and then drop students at the sidewalk alongside the building. Once dropped off at school, students will proceed either to their lockers or to the Commons to wait for the 8:40 bell to ring.

Student Dismissal Procedures

Students who are riding the BUS after school will be directed to a live updated bus map, which displays where their assigned bus route is parked in our new bus lanes.

Individuals picking up students at the end of the day should follow the same procedures as morning drop off above. Once on property, cars turn left and stack a single file line through the parking lot making their way patiently towards the concrete sidewalk along the building. We ask that cars pull all the way forward as much as possible. After picking up students, we ask that traffic needing to travel eastbound toward Route 14 exit at the stop light, while traffic needing to travel westbound use the ELC exit. Please see the hyperlinked map for reference.

Staff will be outside assisting in the flow of traffic should you have questions.

See Something, Say Something

Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911. Please be aware that when a Safe2Help report is made which references Suicide, Self-Harm or School Safety building staff and/or local authorities will be contacted.

Safety 220

During an emergency situation at one of our schools, it is important for our community to work together. Barrington 220 has developed this tip sheet for parents/guardians, which shares specific actions parents/guardians should take in the event of an emergency.
