MESSAGE FROM MR. HERRERA, CAMPUS PRINCIPAL
Good Morning RAM Family,
We are officially one-third of the way through our grading period! Our RAMS completed their three-week exams last week, and three-week progress reports will be available to view in Skyward beginning Wednesday, August 19.
Please take a moment to log in to Skyward and review your childβs progress. This is a great opportunity to celebrate their successes, identify areas where they may need additional support, and make sure they are on track for a successful grading period.
Thank You, RAM Nation!
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank RAM Nation for showing up and supporting our 2nd Annual Rampalooza! It was a tremendous success, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our community.
Many of you stayed to help us kick off our football season with Midnight Madness, and your energy and enthusiasm made the evening unforgettable. Thank you for continuing to show up for and support our RAMS!
The Importance of Being On Time
Please take a moment to review the bell schedule below. The bell to transition to 1st period rings at 8:50 a.m., and 1st period begins promptly at 8:55 a.m. We are noticing that some of our RAMS are arriving at school after 8:55 a.m. This includes students who drive themselves to school as well as students who are dropped off.
It is imperative that our RAMS are in class, seated, and ready to learn by 8:55 a.m. Our teachers have only 45 minutes with our students each class period, and every minute counts! Thank you for partnering with us to ensure our RAMS arrive on time, are prepared to learn, and make the most of every instructional minute.
Parking Decals
We are starting to sell parking decals so that our students can park in the student parking lot. They can pick up a packet with our security officers. The application is extensive and our RAMS need to meet ever item on the application in order to qualify for a decal. We have limited parking spots. We are operating on a first come first serve basis. Students will also be able to buy their own parking space and personalize it if they chose to do so. Those will be sold at a later date. More information to come. Only students that have bought a decal will be able to park in our parking lot. All other vehicles will be subject to being booted.
π Lunch Applications
Please make sure you have completed your child's lunch application. If you have not yet completed the application, please click the link below to do so.
Lunch applications play a much bigger role in our schools than simply determining eligibility for free or reduced-price meals. Completing an application helps our school and district access important resources and funding that directly support our students and campus. Thank you for taking the time to complete this important application.
β RAMS Shout-Outs
Montwood RAMS pride ourselves on providing optimal customer service β the SISD WAY! Did someone provide you or your child with RAMazing customer service? We want to hear about it! If you would like to recognize someone who went above and beyond, please submit a RAMS Shout-Out by clicking on the link below. It will take you to the form to give out your shout out. Let's continue celebrating the people who make Montwood such a special place to learn and work!
π Light Up the Night β 30th Anniversary!
We are excited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Light Up the Night (LUTN) this year!
Light Up the Night is an evening showcase of school spirit, talent, and RAM pride. This is one of our most anticipated events of the year, and we can't wait to celebrate this incredible tradition with our RAMS community. LUTN will be on Wednesday, September 2. It is an evening event. Tickets will go on sale Monday, August 31. LUTN does tend to sell out, so please make sure your child gets their ticket early!
Important: Tickets will not be sold to students who have a pending Loss of Credit (LOC). This expectation was shared with our RAMS during our grade-level meetings. Students have three weeks to close out any pending LOC and ensure they are eligible to participate. Let's get those LOCs taken care of and get ready to Light Up the Night! πβ¨
Safety & Security Reminders
The safety and security of our Rams remains our top priority. We ask for your support by ensuring that students wear their school ID every day. Student IDs help us quickly identify who belongs on campus and are an important part of maintaining a safe learning environment. Please remember that wearing an ID is also part of our school dress code.
Speaking of dress code, we appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive at school dressed appropriately each day. Your support reinforces the high expectations we have for all Rams and helps create a positive learning environment for everyone. Please review and follow the school dress code outlined below.
