Forward Together - CORE Chat at Jefferson
Forward Together: Shaping the Future of Learning in Naperville 203
Over the next year, students, staff, families and community members will join conversations to share experiences and future priorities for our schools. Together, we will create Forward Together 2032, a framework to guide Naperville 203’s future.
Join Our Community CORE Chat
As part of this listening phase, each school will host a Community CORE Chat. Jefferson's 30–45 minute chat, facilitated by district leaders, will occur during our October Home & School evening meeting on October 29th at 6PM in the JJHS Learning Commons. This is an open dialogue, not a presentation of predetermined plans, for families and community members to share experiences, listen and shape our shared vision. We hope you will join us as we move Forward Together.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL — IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES
High school football is back! Naperville North and Naperville Central both opened their home seasons, and we loved seeing our younger Huskies and Redhawks in the stands.
To keep game nights safe and enjoyable for everyone, please note the following before you go:
• Elementary and junior high students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be admitted, and must remain with their parent or guardian throughout the game. Students arriving without an adult will not be admitted.
• Everyone attending needs a ticket. Tickets are available digitally through GoFan — please purchase in advance to keep gate lines moving.
• There is no re-entry. Once you leave the stadium, you will need a new ticket to return.

JJHS Counselor Conferences During Parent/Teacher Conferences
The JJHS Counselors are available for 10-minute Zoom conferences during Parent/Teacher Conferences (October 8-9). If you have concerns regarding your student’s social-emotional well-being and would like to schedule a conference, please email your grade-level school counselor with your preferred day and times on October 8 (5-8:30pm) or October 9 (8am-12pm). When emailing, kindly let us know what concerns you would like to discuss during your conference. You will then be sent a confirmation with the Google Meets link.

8th Grade 9/11 Remembrance
For the 25th anniversay of 9/11, 8th grade students participated in 9/11 pod remembrance activities on Friday, September 11. Teachers in each content area guided students through a variety of activities including investigating primary sources, reading children’s books, reflecting on courage and bravery, and creating different artifacts to commemorate the day. Additionally, there were stations in the LC that allowed students to view photographs of artifacts from the towers, helping us all better understand the humans behind the news stories.
On that pod day, many students also had the opportunity to walk the sidewalk to visit Jefferson’s 9/11 memorial tree outside, where students drew 2,977 leaves in honor of the lives lost on 9/11. Teachers are now working on building displays within Jefferson to showcase some of the artifacts students created to help us all remember to live our lives infused with everyday courage and hope.
