Superintendent's Message
Dear FSD 157-C Families,
This month has been filled with outstanding accomplishments across our district, and we are so proud of our students' hard work and dedication.
Our fifth graders celebrated an important milestone as they graduated from the D.A.R.E. program, led by School Resource Officer Tom Mineo, after committing to making safe and responsible decisions.
We also witnessed incredible athletic success as both the seventh and eighth grade girls volleyball teams captured their respective IESA 4A State Championships after remarkable seasons—congratulations to coaches Katie Roberts and Cristina Vallejo! We look forward to honoring these teams at the April FSD 157-C Board of Education meeting and the April Village of Frankfort Board meeting.
Our second graders also took center stage this month, delivering a fantastic performance of "The Day the Crayons Quit," delighting their families after months of preparation with GP music teacher Brooke Turnbough.
Nearly all our programs, like the instructional, performing arts, and athletic examples listed above, are supported in some way by our parent booster groups. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the parent booster groups that make such a meaningful difference in our schools. From organizing fundraisers and volunteering at events to providing classroom support and celebrating our staff, your dedication helps create a stronger school community. Your partnership is invaluable, and we are grateful for all you do.
Finally, a friendly reminder that registration is now open for returning students. We encourage families to complete the registration process as early as possible to help us plan for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your child’s school office.
As we head into spring break, we hope everyone takes time to relax and recharge—we look forward to all the great things to come in the fourth quarter of the school year.
Sincerely,
Doug Wernet, Ed.D.
Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent

If you need to order yearbooks from different schools, you can add the first yearbook from one school to the cart, and then click “X” to change the name of the school and then search your child at the second school.

Virtual Backpack
Frankfort School District 157-C utilizes a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for sharing information. Flyers, posters, and media from district schools, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and approved business partners are available on our "Virtual Backpack" webpage. This approach replaces the traditional practice of sending materials home via students' backpack mail, ensuring easier access and reduced paper waste.
