From the Principal...

Hi MacArthur Families,

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a restful and joyful Winter Break. As we head into January, our school-wide theme is Perseverance, and we kicked things off with an all-school assembly that had students fired up for this month’s “Perseverance Challenge.” From now through the end of the month, classrooms will be naming, noticing, and celebrating persistence in action. It all leads up to a fun, student-inspired bottle-flipping tournament! We’re also excited to roll out new 3D-printed items in our school store, thanks to a grant supporting STEM at Mac. We can’t wait to see what our students create in the future, using this incredible new resource.

In the classrooms, students have jumped right back into learning after the winter break. Kindergarteners are exploring the different jobs people do to help a community, and first graders are finding their musical voices as they prepare for their winter concert. Second graders are digging into nonfiction texts, asking thoughtful questions using photos and captions. Third graders are studying the solar system, while fourth graders are comparing tenths and hundredths in math. Our fifth graders wrapped up December with a guitar and singing unit that brought 2025 to a close

Alongside all this learning, our teachers are working closely with students to complete winter assessments, which help us understand where each child is thriving and where they may need more support. As always, we’re grateful for your partnership and excited for all the growth to come in 2026!

Make it a great weekend,

Steve

Dress For Outdoor Recess

As the weather turns colder, please make sure your children are dressed to go out to recess. Unless it is raining, or the temperature/wind chill is too cold (below zero), the students will go out every day for two recesses. Please be sure to write your student's last name on a tag in their outerwear (hats, gloves, boots, snow pants, coats), so we can find the owner when things end up in our lost and found. If your scholar does not have snow pants AND boots, they will not be able to play off the blacktop when there is snow on the ground.

Busses and Arrival/Dismissal

Go Riteway Bus Company's phone number is 262-677-3282. Please reach out to them regarding questions on your child's bus route, times of pick up or drop off, and other questions regarding the bus. Click below for the E-Link used to check your scholar's current routing plan (username is student ID, password is the phone number in Skyward - please make sure all dashes/spaces/parentheses as removed).

If you would like to sign up for the bus, please contact the office.

If there is a routing update or change in your bussing plan at any point, please alert your scholar's teacher as well as the front office.

Please complete the DISTRICT VOLUNTEER APPLICATION using the button above if you are interested in volunteering at school or chaperoning a field trip with MacArthur. This form MUST be filled out and the background check needs to be cleared (it can take up to two weeks to clear) if you would like to help. The background checks are good for 3 years, after which they must be renewed.

If you are visiting the school and have an appointment, please bring your I.D. with you so you are able to get a visitor's badge to enter the school.
