Dear Academy Families and Friends,

It's finally February after what seemed like an extra long January with all that snow! I'm hoping the Groundhog calls for an early spring forecast tomorrow!!! On a grateful note, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and support with the issues brought by the snow and taking the extra precautions ensuring our students were safe in getting to school as well as home over the past three days. I'd also like to thank the WPS Maintenance team and our building custodians in addition to the DPW for all their hard work.

Grade 5 Residency Verification: This fall the Weymouth School Committee updated Policy JF: School Admissions to require a verification of residency for students in Grade 5. Families of students in Grade 5 will need to re-establish residency in Weymouth before transitioning to the Maria Weston Chapman Middle School next year. This procedure will enable our district to maintain accurate residency and registration data while confirming continued enrollment eligibility. Required proof of residency documents must be submitted between January 12, 2026, and May 29, 2026. Failure to complete residency verification by May 29, 2026 may affect your child’s enrollment, and they may not have a schedule or be able to participate in school activities at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

"Weymouth Public Schools Wraparound Resource Center offers an ongoing, free, in-person support group for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. This group continues to provide a welcoming space for caregivers to connect with others in similar situations, share experiences, and access helpful resources.
