Where Kids Count began October 9, 2020. It includes students who are continuously enrolled at your school from October 9, 2020 through April 13, 2021.

We recognize the need to accommodate school based Support Specialists schedule and have moved their training to Mondays going forward for 2020-2021. Please support this effort by allowing your required staff to attend. Schedule change for the EMIS virtual training is as follows:

These meetings are mandatory for Support Specialists and attendance will be reported. Principals/Administrators are copied as a courtesy but not required to attend.

Please review your Grad Cohort to make sure students reflect accurate Graduation data. Forward updates to Joyce Bird or Cathy Spellman. Remember your up to date cohort list can be found in Cognos.

• For all students entering ninth grade for the first time this school year, the following field on the FN tab must be updated to show 2021. If there are any Students without the accurate year represented please contact EMIS - emis@cps-k12.org
• This field is what sets the graduation cohort year for the student and it is imperative that it is accurately reported this fiscal year.

Attendance Manual Excerpt on Withdrawal Process

Records requests from other schools typically include an enrollment date for the new school or district. Please use that date as the withdrawal date, not the date that the withdrawal is completed. You will need to clear attendance back to the day before the new school/district's enrollment date.

• It's Crucial that Teachers take Attendance for every period/section bell.

For EMIS Use - Ohio. If their previous attendance pattern was different than yours, you will need to create an FD history in addition to the new history on the FS tab. If the attendance pattern is not different from the sending school, DO NOT create a history.

• Sign In not required; your Google Meet log in is automatically recorded upon entry.
• Log in 15 minutes prior to your meeting start time in order to troubleshoot any connectivity issues.
• Mute microphone once meeting begins including attendees by phone.
  
• Share questions/comments via the chat and the EMIS Team will respond accordingly.
  
• LaunchEd will provide contact hours based on attendance captured in the Google Exit form (Sign Out with your CPS Email) that will be provided at the end of the meeting.
