Principal's Message Principal's Message

Hola Scotties!

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, there is so much to celebrate within our school community. I am thrilled to invite all of our families to join us for our annual Kermes festival this Friday beginning at 5:00. This event is a wonderful tradition filled with student performances, guest performers, games, and a variety of food trucks. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy food, fun, and time with friends, and I truly hope to see your family there.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who help our school thrive. We would love to show our gratitude to our volunteers at our Sunrise Social volunteer appreciation event on Friday, May 22nd at 8:30 in the gym. Please find the invitations and RSVP information included below. Your contributions make a world of difference for our students, and we look forward to celebrating you.

In our classrooms, our third through fifth grade students have been working exceptionally hard to demonstrate their best learning on the OSAS state assessments. We are almost done with testing, and we are so proud of the focus and effort they have shown throughout this process.

Lastly, please join me in congratulating our second graders for winning the first round of the Attendance Rocket Launch challenge. They have been averaging over 92% average daily attendance and have earned a dance party to celebrate their success. This is a great reminder that Scotties show up to shine.

Warmly,

Tiana Ahmann

PPS Rightsizing Feedback Opportunity PPS Rightsizing Feedback Opportunity

Dear Scott Families,

Portland Public Schools is starting a rightsizing process that will continue through the summer and into the fall. If you were not able to attend one of the Board of Education's Rightsizing Engagements in April, it is not too late to share your thoughts on this initial phase of the process.

Lend your voice by completing the poll below which will inform the rightsizing decision-making framework. Please complete the poll by 11:59 PM on Friday, May 15.

English | Spanish | Vietnamese | Chinese | Russian | Somali

Over the next several months, there will be multiple ways to continue to share your ideas, thoughts and questions. Additional engagement events are being scheduled for June.

You can find more information and a calendar of upcoming events on the rightsizing webpage.

Thank you for sharing your perspective.

A member of our Scott School community has a citrus allergy. We ask that all citrus foods, drinks and products (for example cleaning supplies and lotions) are kept at home at all times. We appreciate your cooperation and support in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all.
