Thanks for your input, and we will see you on October 6!
October is Bullying Prevention Month
We're kicking off Bullying Prevention Month this week: students will engage in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons focused on friendship skills and healthy relationships, hear a special morning announcement, and participate in "Taking the Pledge."
Upcoming Spirit Day
Looking ahead, Monday, October 5th is World Day of Bullying Prevention. Students are encouraged to wear their BLUE CCA uniform shirts to show their support for bullying prevention worldwide.
School Activities Your Child Will Experience
- Storytime Discussions & Buddy Lunches: Interactive book readings exploring inclusion and empathy.
- "Take the Pledge": SUPPORT others who have been hurt or harmed, treat others with KINDNESS, be more ACCEPTING of people's differences, and help INCLUDE those who are left out.
- Interactive Lessons: Scenario-based conversations and mini-lessons that lead to discussions and upstander opportunities.
How You Can Support at Home
- Talk About Kindness: Ask your child about their Kindness Bingo card or Buddy Lunch experience.
- Discuss Digital Citizenship: Talk openly about positive online behavior and cyberbullying awareness.
- Participate in Spirit Days: Help your child remember to wear blue on October 5th!
Together, we make a difference! Thank you for partnering with us to build a kind and supportive school community. More information on upcoming activities will be shared throughout the month.
Literati Book Fair
Thank You, CCA Community! We Surpassed Our Book Fair Goal!
The "Campfire Magic" Literati Book Fair has officially come to a close, and we want to send a massive thank you to our incredible community for making it such a tremendous success.
We are thrilled to announce that we officially surpassed our goal of 700 books sold! Because of your generosity and enthusiasm, our students have successfully earned their school-wide free dress day on October 9.
Every purchase made during the fair directly benefits our school, helping us bring even more resources into our library and classrooms.
Finally, a very special thank you to all our wonderful volunteers—we truly couldn't run the book fair without you!
8th Grade Trip Information Meeting
Information Meeting - Monday, October 5 at 5:00pm
The 8th-grade trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City is more than just a class trip; it's a dynamic, hands-on extension of the classroom. This five-day excursion, scheduled for Friday, May 21 to Tuesday, May 25, 2027, offers students a unique opportunity to see history and civics come alive. By visiting key national landmarks and cultural institutions, students can connect what they're learning this year to the real world.
To help families understand the full scope of this valuable trip, CCA is hosting an information meeting on Monday, October 5 at 5:00 p.m. This meeting will cover details like the price, itinerary, logistics, and how the trip aligns with the 8th-grade curriculum. The meeting will be held in person in the CCA Library and can also be attended virtually via Google Meet.
We encourage all 8th grade families to attend!

National Junior Honor Society
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Chapter of Distinction Award 2026
For its exemplary record of leadership, service and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) awarded Cherry Creek Academy the Chapter of Distinction award. NJHS is supported by its parent organization, the National Principals Association (NPA), which also oversees the National Association of Student Councils.
The CCA NJHS chapter fulfilled its service commitment through several impactful projects and activities throughout the academic year, collectively logging 703 volunteer hours from our members. The largest single impact was the Food Drive for the Food Bank of the Rockies, which collected a total of 1,642 pounds of food. Another significant initiative was the Hugs for Soldiers Card Making Event, where students from kindergarten through 8th grade created 201 thoughtful cards for veterans serving overseas. Other contributions included decorating Meal Bags for Project Angel Heart during a chapter meeting and making Get Well Cards for a student at a local high school. Additionally, our 8th grade NJHS members volunteered at the Food Bank of the Rockies and packed 720 bags of food, which equates to 1,200 meals to support our community.
"The NJHS Chapter of Distinction Award celebrates chapters that truly embody what the National Junior Honor Society stands for—students who don't just excel academically but actively strengthen their communities," said NPA CEO Ronn Nozoe. "The CCA NJHS chapter demonstrates how powerful it can be when young leaders channel their talents toward meaningful service and positive change."
The NJHS Chapters of Distinction is a national recognition program created by NJHS to honor chapters that demonstrate strong leadership, sound operations and a deep commitment to the pillars of the Honor Society. This distinction recognizes chapters that meet all Essential Standards and excel in key areas such as student governance and leadership development.
