Kindergarten Assessments & Start Date
Dear Bennett Families of a Kindergarten Student,
As you may have heard, Kindergarten will work a little differently this year. Instead of coming to school when students in grades 1-5 start, Kindergarten students will come in for a specific assessment time on either August 26 or August 27. Please sign up for an Kindergarten assessment time if you haven't done so already.
Kindergarten Students will have their first full day of school on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Classroom Teacher Assignments
Classroom teacher assignments for Grades 1-5 will be sent out via email no later than August 20, 2026.
Infinite Campus- Student Registration Forms
It’s that time of the year when families need to update their student registration information for the new school year. This annual registration update ensures we have accurate contact details, health records, and emergency contacts on file for students.
For the 2026-27 school year, FPS will be using Infinite Campus for our student information system. A parent portal account will need to be created in Campus Parent to access student information. Please see your email for information on how to create your account and update your student information for the 2026-27 school year. The subject of the email is “ACTION REQUIRED - Create Your Fargo Schools Campus Parent Portal Account.” You may need to check your junk/spam folder in your email account for this email. FPS will continue to send you this email in the coming weeks until you create your Campus Parent account.
Follow these instructions to create your account and complete your student's registration forms:
Create Your Account Using Your Activation Code
1. https://fargond.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/fargo.jsp
2. Click New User? at the bottom of the login screen.
3. Enter the Activation Code sent via email by Fargo Schools
4. Create your username and password.
Student Dropoff- Parking Lot Safety
If you are dropping off your student, please use the southern-most driveway loop. (The northern loop is reserved for buses only.) Drive forward as far as possible. In order to keep our drop-off line moving, drivers need to remain in the vehicle as students exit on the curb on the passenger side. Students may enter the building at 7:50 AM. If you plan on walking your children into the building, please park in the southern-most parking lot and walk your child across the driveway loop.
Please feel free to stop by school and practice morning drop off so your student can exit easily once school begins. In the mornings, we will have staff along the curb to help students if needed. The back parking lot is another option if you would rather not wait in the drop-off line.
Thank you for helping us keep all Bennett students safe!!
Walking your student to the classroom- First Day Only!
The first day of school is a fun and exciting time and many families want to document it. So, the morning routine for our first day of school will be a bit different than the remainder of the year.
Just on the first day, parents can walk their children to the classroom to take pictures by their locker or classroom. Once pictures are done, say your goodbyes and allow your student to start their day.
Daily Attendance
Please help us with our daily attendance by contacting the school if your child is going to be absent or late for school.
Information Needed:
Student's First & Last Name, Teacher, and reason for their absence.
Text: 701-446-8149
Email: beattendance@fargo.k12.nd.us
Call: 701-446-4008
If your child arrives at school after the bell rings at 8:05 AM, they will need to stop in the office to get a tardy slip before going to the classroom.
APPOINTMENTS: If you need to pick up your student for an appointment during the school day, come to door 1W and ring the security bell to enter the school. Your child will be called to the office when you arrive and you may sign them out at that time.
Add Lunch Money- SchoolPay
Please login to SchoolPay to add lunch money to your student's lunch account.
Infinite Campus does not include a clickable link for families like PowerSchool did. Parents must go directly to the SchoolPay website and choose find my account.
To ensure all parents have the opportunity to get connected to SchoolPay, SchoolPay suggests parents who try Find my Account and don’t receive an email call their support number and a support technician can set a password for them. The SchoolPay support number is 833-731-2600. In their calling system, after selecting a language for the call, choose option 3 to Create an Account, and then option 2 to speak with a representative.
NO MID-MORNING BEVERAGE BREAK
Milk for classroom breaks will not be offered at our elementary schools.
Currently, approximately 40% of the cost of the milk program is funded by the Fargo Public Schools. Due to declining resources, the program is no longer feasible to continue. In addition, school staff have reported significant milk waste, making the program no longer sustainable. Students will continue to have access to drinking water following their school’s guidelines. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program will continue to be offered at qualifying buildings and is typically provided during classroom breaks.

NO CLASSROOM BIRTHDAY TREATS
The great thing about birthdays is that everyone has one!! Birthdays are a big deal and at Bennett, we promise to celebrate your child’s birthday, or half- birthday (for those who have summer birthdays)! However, in keeping with the District’s Wellness Policy, AP 3250, we are unable to have food or candy brought to school to celebrate a student’s birthday.
We will continue to celebrate student birthdays with a “shout out” on the announcements, along with a card and pencil from Ms. Schafer. In addition, classroom teachers will have many, many ways to help your child feel celebrated throughout the day!
NO Phones or Smart Watches During School
Per FPS Administrative Policy 4263 Personal Electronic Communication Device Use students will not be permitted to use or access personal devices — such as cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, or personal tablets or computers — during the school day. Devices must be turned off or silenced and securely stored in lockers. This means, students are not allowed to carry their personal electronic device with them throughout the school day.
Please be aware that the Fargo Public School District is not responsible for lost or damaged devices. For our elementary students, please note that while each child has a locker, locks are neither provided nor permitted.
If any parent or student has a concern about the safety and security of personal electronic devices, we strongly recommend that students leave their electronic devices at home.
This policy supports a learning environment free from distractions and promotes student well-being, safety, and academic engagement. It reflects both the expectations of state law and the commitment of Fargo Public Schools to maintain a positive, focused school culture.
Please review the full policy
Thank you for your partnership as we implement this change. We look forward to welcoming all students and families back on the first day of school!
