From the MYP Coordinator
Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
This week, ACSD was visited by a team of 8 IB Specialists as part of our IB/NEASC re-accreditation. 2 of these specialists, Melissa and Laura, spent the day at MUMS on Tuesday meeting with students, teachers, and observing MYP classrooms in action.
This comes at the end of a 3-year process where MUMS, along with all ACSD schools, has taken time to reflect on our practices and set goals for the future. You may remember filling out a survey last year to help contribute to this process!
Melissa and Laura helped us see that we have SO much to celebrate here at MUMS, including our coordinated curriculum, strong teacher and team collaboration, and our new Shared Understanding of High Quality Learning that grounds and guides much of our work. We have also set several goals for direction, which we look forward to sharing with our community!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Dear MUMS Families,
Parent & Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 4:00- 7:30pm, and Friday October 24th 8:00am- 12:00pm.
Conferences hosted on Wednesday October 22nd, 2025 will be IN PERSON ONLY.
Conferences hosted on Friday October 24th will be VIRTUAL ONLY.
Please sign up HERE via PTCFast to indicate which teachers and times you would like to meet.
Due to limited conference slots, caregivers can meet with only two CORE Teachers. For example you could meet with your students' Lang & Lit teacher as well as the I&S teacher, or you could set up conferences with Math and Science. Please only schedule conferences with 2 out of the 4 CORE Teachers. If you sign up for more than two Megan will contact you directly to choose the two conferences you prefer.
MIXT team, Wellness, Language Acquisition, Counselors, Special Education & Interventionists will meet independently with caregivers as folks sign up. You can sign up for as many of these conferences as you would like.
Conferences will be 13 minutes long as they have been in the past.
The focus of our conferences will be on how students are navigating their school day as well as discuss strengths and an area of growth/focus.
Conference sign ups will close at the end of the day on Sunday October 19th. If you have any questions regarding this process please contact Megan Curran at mcurran@acsdvt.org.

Picture Retakes
Picture Retake Day!
Picture retake day will be Wednesday November 12th.
If you have not already purchased your school pictures through mylifetouch.com, you can do so by using the Portrait ID and Access Code to order your school pictures. If your student was absent on October 1st for Picture Day, then they will automatically be included in retake day. If you would like to ensure your child gets their picture taken on November 12th, please contact Megan Curran. If you have any other questions or concerns please contact Megan Curran at mcurran@acsdvt.org.
Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
Shoreham/Cornwall bus caveats
Please use the "button" above to preview our ACSD bus routes.
Also please note a few caveats that impact students who ride Cornwall or Shoreham buses home.
Cornwall and Shoreham buses do not come to MUMS at pick-up time. Students who ride those buses must take a shuttle from MUMS to MUHS to meet their bus.
Cornwall students use the Bridport bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Cornwall bus at the High school to ride home.
Shoreham students use the Weybridge bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Shoreham bus at the High school to ride home.
