MAP TESTING DATES MAP TESTING DATES

We will be completing MAP testing sessions on the mornings of April 18, 20, 21. It would be really helpful if you could ensure your child has had a good nights rest, healthy breakfast, and a positive attitude. I believe they will do amazing and I would appreciate any extra encouragement or reminders you could provide them as well. Thank you in advance.

A Grand Evening

On the evening of Thursday, April 13th we will be hosting our first ever "Grand Evening". This event is open to all families, especially grandparents. Fourth grade will have a variety of activities and things to share. Our evening will consist of a passport that provides families multiple options and they may pick and choose what works for them.

Geometry Review

Over the next two weeks we will be doing a quick geometry review. This week we started by reviewing a variety of polygons, angles, and lines. Please quiz your child over these geometry basics. There are numerous pages of student work included in their Friday folder as a guide if needed. Next week we will cover types of quadrilaterals, symmetry, rotations, translations, and reflections.

Economics

This week we started our study of economics. We reviewed and defined needs, wants, goods, and services. We introduced the idea of supply and demand by exploring Ben & Jerry's 50 ice cream flavors. We discussed cost, materials, and more. On Friday we reviewed types of available resources and how entrepreneurs use such resources. Using the video below as inspiration, the kids created goods and services out of recycled materials. It was a blast!
