Dear Oak Brook Families,
The week of November 10-14 will be our Parent/Teacher Conference Week and the library will host the Scholastic Book Fair.

- Information about the book fair is also below.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,

Book Fair
The fall Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Oak Brook November 10-14!. Check out this Book Fair homepage to preview books and set up an eWallet for your children. The eWallet is a digital payment account allowing you to fund your child's purchases in advance.
Students will visit the library twice this week, first to preview and make a wish list and second to purchase. Here is the schedule of days and times your child will go. The Book Fair will be open to families during conferences Tuesday, November 11 from 2:45-4:30 and Thursday November 13 from 2:45-7:45.
The Book Fair needs several volunteers to help throughout the week. Please use this link to sign up to volunteer. In order to volunteer, a background check will need to be completed if you haven't done so this school year. Thanks in advance for your help!
Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Thanks!

What's for Dinner?
Let us help with dinner planning. Please see below for upcoming fundraisers at local restaurants. These restaurants donate money directly back to our PTO to support our students.
Focus on Character
This week we will focus on stewardship. We define stewardship as taking responsibility for your environment. We work to help our students understand that your goal should be to leave every area you enter better than you found it. That looks like cleaning up (even if something isn't yours) and taking accountability for making our daily living spaces (and our world) better than they were before you were there. Please take time to talk with your child this week about how he/she can show good stewardship at home, at school and in the community. When practiced on a daily basis, small acts can make a big difference.

Trip to Greece
Please see the information below about an opportunity for students in 4th-8th grades. At this time, students in grades 4–8 and their families are eligible to participate in the trip. Additionally, due to high interest, we are now accepting applications from current 9th and 10th-grade students for a limited number of Student Leadership roles.
We’re excited to host a Greece Parent Information Meeting on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 PM in the Library at Central High School.
The meeting will cover important details including the itinerary, costs, deadlines, and ways families can get involved.
