The Patriot Pride
November 2, 2026
Greetings from Ms. De Hoyos & Mrs. Jimenez
A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing Adams Hill families for your generous candy, snack, and treat donations for our Tent or Treat event! We are incredibly fortunate to have such thoughtful and giving families who always come together to support our students and school. Your generosity and kindness help make special events like this possible and create wonderful memories for our Patriots. We are truly grateful for your continued support and partnership. Thank you for making Adams Hill such a special place to be! ❤️💙
Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1st! Be sure to set your clocks BACK one hour. We look forward to seeing all of our Patriots bright and early on Monday morning, rested and ready to learn! Remember, school starts at 7:45 a.m., so please plan accordingly to ensure your child arrives on time. Thank you for helping us start the week off strong!
As we welcome the month of November, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude and taking time to appreciate the wonderful people in our lives. Mrs. Jimenez and I are truly grateful to be part of the Adams Hill family! Each day, we feel blessed to work alongside our dedicated staff, spend time with our amazing students, and partner with our supportive families. We are thankful for the warm welcome, kindness, and support we have received since joining this special community. Adams Hill is a place filled with heart, and we are proud to call it our home. As we enter this season of thankfulness, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the many blessings around us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child's educational journey. We are grateful to be Patriots!
Please remember that Tuesday, November 3rd, is a student holiday in observance of Election Day. There will be no school for students on this day, as our teachers and staff will be participating in professional development. We hope our Patriots enjoy their day off! Students will return to school on Wednesday, November 4th, ready to learn.
As we begin a new week and welcome the month of November, we look forward to another wonderful week of learning, growing, and making memories with our Patriots! Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and partnership in making Adams Hill such a special place. We are grateful for each and every one of you and wish all of our Adams Hill families a fantastic week ahead! Let's make it a great week, Patriots!

Our counselor will share helpful tips, resources, reminders, and activities designed to help students build confidence, develop positive relationships, manage emotions, and make responsible choices. Attendance Matters at Adams Hill!
When Should My Child Stay Home?
To help keep all of our students and staff healthy, please keep your child home when they are feeling ill, especially if they have a fever, are vomiting, have diarrhea, or are experiencing symptoms that make it difficult for them to participate comfortably in the school day. Students who have a fever should remain home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, such as Tylenol or Motrin. Sending students back to school too soon can slow their recovery and may expose classmates and staff to illness. We appreciate our families working with us to keep our school community healthy and ready to learn!
What to do when your child is sick?
When your child is absent due to illness, please send a written note with your child when they return to school. The note should include your child’s name, the date(s) they were absent, and the reason for the absence. You may also provide a doctor’s note to excuse the absence. Providing documentation helps us accurately record your child’s attendance and keep our records up to date. Thank you for helping us maintain accurate attendance records!
Birthdays at Adams Hill...
Birthday Invitations
We love celebrating our Patriots and their special days! 🎂🎉 If your child would like to bring birthday party invitations to school for the teacher to distribute, please remember that invitations must be provided for the entire class, all of the boys, or all of the girls. Invitations for only select students should be shared outside of the school setting. This helps us protect students’ feelings and ensures that no child feels left out or excluded. Thank you for helping us create a kind, inclusive, and caring environment for all of our students! ❤️💙
HB 1481- Cell phones at school
As a reminder, House Bill 1481 (HB 1481) requires Texas public schools to limit student use of personal communication devices during the school day. At Adams Hill, students should keep cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal communication devices turned off and put away throughout the instructional day. This helps us maintain a safe, focused learning environment where students can fully engage with their teachers and classmates without unnecessary distractions. If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the front office, and we will make sure your message is delivered. We appreciate our families partnering with us to support student learning and follow state requirements.
