Principal's Weekly Update
Week of August 25-29
Administrator's Message đž
Dear Wildcat Families,
We successfully completed the first FULL week of the 25/26 school year! Our first coffee chat with the principal is coming up this week, where we will debrief our opening of school procedures and gather feedback, as well as discussion around our goals for this school year and how you can help. See the image below for details on date and time - we hope to see you there!
Please mark your calendars - Back to School Night is Wednesday, September 3rd from 5pm to 7pm. On this date, we will be sponsoring the first 20 parents for FREE fingerprinting to ensure you're cleared to volunteer for field trips, school events and more.
The newsletter below contains important information regarding picture day, fall sports, the first dance of the year, MAP testing and more!

Admin Assemblies
Our administrative team held grade level specific assemblies on Monday. We reinforced our academic expectations, schoolwide expectations and shared the pawsitivity initiatives on campus. You may see the slide deck presentation here and revisit these with your student.

MAP Testing
Starting next week, students will begin MAP testing in their English classes. These assessments help us identify each studentâs strengths and areas for growth, so we can better support their academic success throughout the year.
To help your child do their best, please keep the following in mind:
- Make sure they get a good nightâs sleep before testing days.
- Encourage them to eat a healthy breakfastâstudents can also grab breakfast from the cafeteria before school starts.
- Remind them to bring their Chromebooks fully charged each day.
Sports
Fall sports are coming soon!
BGW will offer volleyball, flag football and cross country this fall.
*We are still in need of a flag football coach. Unfortunately, we run the risk of not having a team if we cannot find a coach. Please help us spread the word!*
Now is the time for students to get physicals done if interested in playing. The tryouts will start soon. Students MUST have a 2.0 GPA, have a physical done by a doctor and sign up on Homecampus.com to be able to try out.
