SRS Monthly Update
March 2026
SRS Families,
March is here, and with it comes the promise of warmer days and more opportunities to enjoy time outdoors. We are looking forward to the weather getting nicer and being able to head outside for recess more consistently. Fresh air and outdoor play make such a difference for our studentsβ energy and focus!
As we head into the spring season, we are also preparing for the upcoming MCAS for our third and fourth graders. Third grade will kick things off on March 31st with their first ELA session. We are proud of the hard work our students have put in all year and are confident they are ready to show what they know. In the coming weeks, please help your child by ensuring they get a good nightβs sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time.
Spring is always a busy and exciting time at SRS! Be on the lookout for communication from your childβs teacher about upcoming classroom events, special activities, and field trips. As these opportunities begin to pop up, we are grateful for the support of our families.
If you plan to volunteer in the classroom or chaperone a field trip, please make sure you have a valid CORI check completed with Mrs. Bowen in our front office. Having this completed in advance helps ensure everything runs smoothly for our events.
March also brings continued opportunities for student growth, celebration, and community building. Whether through classroom learning, enrichment activities, or schoolwide events, we remain focused on supporting the academic and social-emotional development of every child.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong and successful spring at SRS!

Why do you love being a part of SRS?
The #1 reason I love being a teacher at SRS:
The children. Every child is different. They all have different backgrounds and you get to see the children grow in all sorts of ways. You can support them with their home life, relationships with peers as well as their academic work β you just have to find a way in to connect with each individual.
