Mrs. Smith’s Snapchat…

Hello Lakeside Families,

With only 10 days remaining this school year, students are getting excited for many fun activities including field day, CORE Celebrations, and end of the year classroom activities!

Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th are both early release days for Warren Township. Students will be released from school one hour early @ 2:05pm. Friday, May 28th is also the last day of the school year.

In order to provide students access to additional academic support opportunities this summer, students will be able to keep their iPads and device chargers at home over the summer break. If your family is planning to move over the summer months and will not be returning to Warren Township, please be sure to let your child's teacher know so that the device will be kept at school. Virtual families no longer needing a Wifi Hotspot may return those devices to our front office or Moorhead Community Resource Center.

As a reminder, in addition to students being in-person 5 days a week for the next school year, families can apply K-8 Virtual or 9-12 Online. Applications for the 21-22 school year are now available at the links below and will be included in our school newsletters and on our website, warren.k12.in.us. Please note there will be a limited capacity for the amount of students that will be enrolled in each program.

PTA Message

Dear Lakeside Parents,

We are excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Lakeside Elementary PTA to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for Lakeside Students.

The best part? Donations do not come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases,

you simply enter the product codes here: coke.com/give/schools and our school receives a donation.

If you wish to send in the coke bottle caps or coke rewards from inside the can cartons, we will be happy

to enter the codes.

Help Lakeside make the most of this program and learn more at Coke.com/give.

Thank you,

Lakeside PTA

iPad App Support

In order to help with some of the recurring app issues some students are experiencing, we ask that you share this quick how-to video in your newsletters so that parents may perform the reset if needed. This reset will put the iPad into the JAMF management system and allow us to ensure there are fewer issues. If they have any issues, they will of course be able to contact us for assistance via the helpdesk or the Moorhead Chromedesk.

Teachers in the classroom are also welcome to do this if they notice an iPad is still on Filewave (our old management software).

The video is linked below. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Updated Facemask Guidance

Warren received updated guidance that initiated an update to our district's S.A.F.E. Reopening Plan. The plan has been updated on our website. Specifically, page 10 in reference to face coverings now reads, "Recent updates from health officials discourage the use of face shields as a replacement for face masks. All MSD of Warren Township staff and students should wear face masks unless an extenuating circumstance exists and a face shield is needed. School administrators may approve the use of a face shield in these cases."

CAR RIDERS/DAYCARE Student Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures

We ask that our parents follow these guidelines to ensure that every student has a safe arrival and dismissal:

All students will be required to be dropped off and picked up through the car rider line to maintain safety standards. Parking at the front and East end of the building and walking children to and from the entrances will not be allowed. We want to prevent children and adults walking through the path of cars or buses on the property at any time.

Staff members will be present outside beginning at 7:55 a.m. each morning for student drop-off. Please do not release your children until a staff member signals the beginning of our process. Students will not be counted tardy until 8:05 a.m. Our afternoon pick-up procedures will begin at 3:00 p.m. If you are in a hurry, you are encouraged to be at or near the front of the line. We will implement our dismissal procedures as quickly and safely as possible for all.

Thank you very much for your support with helping ensure Lakeside maintains safety as our priority during our student entrance and dismissal each day!

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
