Campus Entry Update & Reminder

If you have a student in the BASE after school program and enter campus from the base side for pick up, please enter through the black push gate next to the front office. The side rolling gate will now be locked after dismissal.

As always, if you are coming on campus to meet with a teacher or staff member before or after school, please stop by the front office first to check in. Thank you for helping us keep a safe and secure campus for everyone!

Lost & Found Closet Clean-Out

Our Lost & Found is very full! Mrs. Colton and our student leaders will help organize items so jackets are hung and easier to identify, and they’ll do their best to return any labeled items to their owners.

Families, please remind students to take responsibility for their belongings by stopping by to check for missing jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.

Any unclaimed items will be donated on Friday, February 13.

Riding to School? 4 Things to Know 🚲 🛴🛹

Since coming back from Winter Break, we’ve noticed lots of Tigers rolling in with new wheels. We love seeing students start their day with some great exercise by biking, skating, or scootering to school!

Here are 4 things for families to know:

1. Helmets Required! A buckled helmet is required every time. No helmet = no riding. It’s the law and protects growing brains!

2. E-Bikes: 12+, Permit, Rear Light/Reflector Needed! Students must be 12 years or older AND have a valid OUSD e-bike permit to bring an e-bike on campus. New Requirement: All E-bikes are now required to have a red reflector or red rear light (solid or flashing) visible from 500 feet at all times.

3. Walk it on Campus! Bikes, scooters, and skateboards must be walked on campus (and when leaving). It's time to hop off and start walking when you get to the A-frame signs posted along the sidewalks.

4. Park it in the Racks! Bikes & scooters must be parked in designated bike racks. Propping against the fence not only looks tacky, but bikes and scooters do tip over and become a tripping hazard.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our campus a safe and welcoming place for all!

Pick-up and Drop-off Safety Reminders

Arrival and dismissal can be a busy and exciting time for students, especially on Wednesdays when all of our students dismiss at the same time. To help keep everyone safe, we ask families to please talk with their children about safe street-crossing habits.

Please remind your student to use crosswalks, walk their bikes or scooters when crossing, look both ways, and avoid darting between parked cars. These simple reminders at home reinforce our school expectations and make a big difference in keeping dismissal safe for all of our students, pedestrians, and drivers.

Additionally, to help keep pick-up and drop-off safe and smooth, please remember that families are to use the designated loading zone in front of the school. For safety reasons, students should not be dropped off or picked up in the parking lot.

Thank you for partnering with us to support a safe and smooth dismissal for everyone!

Smart Watches & Cell Phones... During the Day, Off and Away

Our OUSD policy is: “During the Day, Off and Away!” This means all personal devices — including phones and smartwatches — must be turned off and kept in backpacks from arrival until dismissal.

Please help us reinforce this expectation at home. When we work together, we create a focused learning environment that helps all our Tigers stay present, connected, and ready to learn!
