Principal's Message
Dear Families,
We have almost wrapped up our SOL testing! Thank you everyone for making sure that your children were well rested and ready for the state assessments.
Chromebooks and Chargers
5th Grade students will hold on to the LCPS assigned devices and chargers and take them to middle school in the fall. All other LCPS assigned devices and chargers will be returned to school for the summer. We need all K-4 devices and chargers returned to Steuart Weller by June 10. Students in summer school will have access to a device while they are in attendance.
Library Books are due on June 1.
Yearbooks will be distributed during the last week of school.
Our 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 11th.
Thank you everyone for making a concerted effort to have your children in school! Our attendance rate has improved this year! The last weeks of school still count toward our accreditation, so please keep sending your children to school!
News from SWES PTO
PTO: What does that even mean?? The PTO is a Parent and Teacher Organization that builds community among families, bridges the gap between teachers and parents, and enriches the school experience. The PTO organizes fun events, raises money to help families in our community, and assists with school projects. The Weller PTO will be losing a significant number of parents next year. We're looking for new parents to step in and help our team of awesome volunteers! Being involved in the PTO is a great way to become plugged in and get to know your child's teachers, friends, and fellow parents. We have a variety of open roles with different commitment levels. We'd love to chat more about how you might help.
- THANK YOU to all the families and friends who contributed towards the Fun Run! We raised $27,418 this year! All event revenue will be donated to Sunrise Day Camp, providing safe, fun programs for children with cancer. We are so grateful for your generosity. It was incredibly special event, thanks to each of you!

Kindergarten Registration

Supporting Social Emotional Growth at Home
Here are questions you can ask your children about what will be presented this week in their daily SEL lessons
Anticipating Change & Circle of Control
Students will talk about changes that come with the end of the school year (new routines, new teacher next year, etc.) and how to respond to changes. For the next 2 weeks, 5th graders will receive lessons geared towards navigating middle school.
K-5
Students will learn about emotions they might feel when experiencing change. They will discuss strategies for navigating these feelings such as understanding what is in their circle of control.
Have you student name an upcoming change they will experience. Ask how they might feel about this upcoming change and how they can navigate it.
