Cedar Springs Public Schools is excited to welcome back students for the 2025-2026 school year! With the first day of school just around the corner (Wednesday, August 20, 2025), we want to set you and your student(s) up for a successful school year!


All school buildings (except Beach Elementary) will re-open today, Monday, August 4, 2025, to normal business hours.


Additional emails with building-specific information may be sent from the school your student(s) will be attending. Below is general information on what to expect in the upcoming weeks!

  • View the 25-26 Academic Calendar and become familiar with the school year

  • View the Elementary Suggested Supply Lists (K-5, these items are not required)

  • Review our Handbooks K-12

  • Education Benefits Form (one per family). This form helps our district receive critical funding for programs that support all students—including nutrition services, academic support, technology, and more. Please take a few minutes to complete the form as soon as possible.

  • High School (Grades 9–12):

    • Seniors: Schedules available August 6

    • Grades 10–12: Info and details will be e-mailed on August 13

    • 9th Grade: Will be available at orientation on August 13

Freshman and New Student Orientation - Wednesday, August 13 at 6 p.m.

  • There is no orientation for 10th–12th-grade students. Be sure to check your email today for important back-to-school information!

Middle School Open House - Monday, August 18, 4-7 p.m.

  • 4-6 p.m. - 6th Graders

  • 5-7 p.m. - 7th/8th Graders

Elementary Open Houses, Monday, August 18, from 5-7 p.m.

  • 5-6 p.m. - Cedar Trails Elementary (K-1)

  • 5:30-6:30 p.m. - Beach Elementary (2-3)

  • 6-7 p.m. - Cedar View Elementary (4-5)

  • Time TBD - Preschool (ECSC)

ECSE Open House

  • ECSE at the Early Childhood Center will be on Monday, August 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Tryouts for High School Athletes will take place next week, on Monday, August 11.


If your student plans to play sports in the 2025-2026 school year, make sure you have created an account on FinalForms, uploaded a physical (must be dated after 4/15/25), and added any pay-to-play payments. Once registered, you will opt in to receive athletic communications. If you have questions, reach out to our Athletic Department at 616-696-9080.

  • Grades K–7: Devices will stay in classroom carts all year.
  • Grade 8: Pick up your device from your locker during the Middle School Open House.
  • Incoming 9th Grade: Your device will be in your locker at High School Orientation.
  • Grades 10–12: Keep using your device from last year.


Need a repair?
If your device is damaged, bring it to the District Office (formerly Red Hawk Intermediate) on August 4 or 6 between 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Use the District Office/Early Childhood Center entrance. Be sure to include your name and a note about the issue.

Transportation Transportation

Busing information will be mailed to registered students this week (August 4). If you don’t receive information by Wednesday, August 13, please contact the Transportation Department at 616-696-1450 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m.).


Transportation changes can not be made between 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Please visit the Family Portal and click on ‘my account’ to set up your student’s lunch account and add money if you haven't already.


Any remaining money from last year will still be in the student’s account.

Parents and guardians may request that photographs, video and audio recordings, comments, and/or names of students not be used by completing the online form. If you would like a paper copy, please email communications@csredhawks.org.

The district office is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. We can assist with:

  • Enrollment

  • Updating contact information (address - needs proper documentation)
