October 2025
A Message from Superintendent Mr. Rose
Dear Wilson Families,
I want to take a moment to reflect on all the exciting things happening across our schools. We have kicked off an incredible second quarter, full of learning, growth, and opportunities for our Wildcats to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed inside the classroom and beyond. Our mission remains clear: to prepare our students to become leaders and make a positive impact in their communities.
In October we celebrated National Principals Month, honoring Mrs. Wojcicki for her outstanding leadership that keeps both of our schools running smoothly. We also recognized the vital roles of our nutrition staff and transportation team during National School Lunch Week and National School Bus Safety Week—their dedication ensures our Wildcats are cared for and safe every day.
We enjoyed amazing family events that continue to strengthen our school community. Your engagement and support are what make these experiences so special, demonstrating the Wilson Way in action.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to invite all families to our Fall Festival on November 7! This event promises fun, games, and a great opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate. We hope to see every one of our Wildcats and their families there!
Thank you for being an essential part of our Wilson family. Your continued support helps us inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders.
With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent

From the Court to the Field – Wildcats Give It Their All!
Our Wildcats had an exciting fall sports season—full of teamwork, growth, and school spirit!
Our Flag Football team showed incredible dedication and perseverance throughout the season, giving their all in every game. While the team did not make the playoffs, our athletes displayed true sportsmanship, improved their skills week after week, and represented Wilson with pride.
Our Volleyball team had a strong season, finishing with a 4–3 record and earning a spot in the playoffs as the #4 seed in the Conference! Their teamwork, determination, and positive energy made every match exciting to watch. Congratulations to our players and coaches for a fantastic season!
We are so proud of all our student athletes for their hard work and dedication this fall. Thank you to our families for cheering on our Wildcats—you make every season special!
Helping Paws: Community Awareness Class Makes a Difference
After several weeks of researching and collecting donations, our Community Awareness class had the incredible opportunity to visit the Arizona Humane Society — and what an amazing experience it was!
Students proudly delivered their collected donations — over 50 items — completely filling the Humane Society’s donation station! Their hard work and compassion made a real difference for animals in need.
During their visit, students learned how the Phoenix Police Department and the Humane Society work together to rescue animals and keep them safe. They even had the chance to conduct their own mock investigations, completing “reports” on what they discovered — a hands-on way to apply what they have been learning in class!
We are so proud of our students for their kindness, curiosity, and commitment to helping others.
Sharing Her Story: Mrs. Ruth Harris Feature
We are so proud of our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Ruth Harris, who was recently featured as a storyteller at the 4th Annual Immigrant Storytelling Show and Fundraiser, presented by the Phoenix Legal Action Network (PLAN).
During the event, Mrs. Harris shared her powerful journey of immigrating from Mexico as a young girl and her lifelong search for a sense of belonging. Her story was one of courage, resilience, and hope — inspiring everyone in attendance.
The Immigrant Storytelling Show celebrates the strength and diversity of our community by giving voice to personal experiences that shape who we are. Mrs. Harris’ story reminded us of the importance of compassion, understanding, and inclusion — values that lie at the heart of the Wilson Way.
We are incredibly honored to have leaders like her who not only serve our students and families every day but also use their voices to uplift and inspire others.
AVID Family Night Recap – Preparing for the Future
What an incredible evening we had at our AVID Family Night! Families, students, and staff came together for a fun and inspiring event focused on college and career readiness—the heart of the AVID program.
During the event, families learned more about how AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) supports students in building organization, goal-setting, and study skills that help prepare them for success in middle school, high school, and beyond. Interactive stations and activities gave everyone a hands-on look at the tools and strategies our Wildcats are using in the classroom every day.
It was wonderful to see so many families engaged and excited to learn together. Events like these remind us how powerful it is when students, families, and teachers work as a team to build confidence and motivation for the future.
Building Community One Cup at a Time
More than 70 community members joined us for a meaningful gathering filled with conversation, connection, and, of course, coffee.
'Cafecito at the Library' provided an opportunity for stakeholders to come together, share ideas, ask questions, and learn more about what is happening at Wilson and how they can partner along with us and become part of our village. It was a perfect reminder of how strong our school community is when we take the time to connect and support one another.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the morning so special. Your presence shows that when we come together, great things happen!
Step by Step – A Night of Folk Dance, Family, and Fun!
Earlier this month, our 3rd grade students put on their dancing shoes and took the stage for a joyful evening of folk dancing with their families.
We were thrilled to welcome a gym full of attendees to this special event, and the energy in the room was unforgettable! Students proudly demonstrated the dances they have been learning in music class and even got their families up and moving too. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, tradition, and togetherness.
Events like this highlight what makes our Wilson community so special — when we come together, we create memories that last a lifetime. Thank you to our incredible music teacher, staff, and families for making this night a huge success.
