Fall Festival
Join us for our Fall Festival Thursday, November 16th from 5:30-6:30!
This is for Ruth Cherry Families only. Each grade level will have a game for you to play!

Cherry Elementary Student Council is excited to announce our first school wide activity. Starting Wednesday, November 1st through Friday, November 10th, students will have the opportunity to purchase a feather for a dollar to put on any staff member’s turkey. Students can purchase feathers in the morning starting at 7:05 at the Learning Stairs. The staff member with the most feathers will have to dress like a turkey for the day on Friday, November 17th . The money raised will be used to fund additional student council projects and activities for Cherry Elementary throughout the school year. We would love everyone to participate in this fun project and cannot wait to see who has to dress like a turkey!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out your child’s art, this is the last weekend to order! Your student has created an awesome art piece and would love for you to see it on our school’s Art to Remember website:https://arttoremember.com/school/F5M8X2. Artwork can be placed on a wide variety of items that you can order and enjoy daily. Many items are under $10 and make great holiday gifts for family and friends. If you have any difficulty locating your child’s artwork, contact melissa.kilgore@rcisd.org and I will be happy to help you locate it! Remember, you can upload additional pieces of art from your child’s personal collection! All online orders are due next Monday, November 6th, so this is the last weekend to order! Items shipped to the school will arrive around the first week of December.
Picture Day Retakes will be November 30th.
We will have picture retakes on November 30th in the morning at school! If you are new to our campus or if you were absent on our last picture day, it's ok! You will get your picture take for our yearbook.
If you would like to purchase pictures we will have a flyer that will go home in student backpacks soon. Be on the lookout for that.

Our All Pro Dad October Breakfast is coming up on Wednesday, November 29th, at 6:45 am, in the Cherry Cafeteria.
This is a chance for our dads/guardians and students to connect over donuts and a short video. And of course, what would an All Pro Dad breakfast be without...PRIZES!!!

Please download the My School Bucks app to manage your child's lunch account. To see if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please apply at https://www.myschooolapps.com.
Breakfast is $1.75 and served until 7:30.
Lunch is $2.70.
Money may be uploaded to your child's account at myschoolbucks.com.
Your child's teacher will share with you their lunch time.
PARENT LUNCHES
Parents are able to come have lunch with their children on Mondays through Thursdays. To help us teach all the students our procedures first, we'll wait to start this until September 11th.
After the 11th, you're welcome to come have lunch with your child in the main hallway in front of the cafeteria. If you choose to come have lunch with your child, they can either buy their lunch or you can bring food - either way! We cannot have friends join in on the parent lunches.
If you wish to bring cupcakes or other items to school to help your child celebrate a birthday, we can do that with a few restrictions to help us stay in compliance with food guidelines and allergy rules.
Items must be store bought with an ingredient label for our nurse to be able to check for allergies. We will deliver the food to their class, they can be dropped off at the office. Thank you for helping us stay in compliance!
Be sure to let your child's teacher know how he or she is getting home from school. Bus - which bus? Car rider or walker? Daycare or YMCA?
During the year, any changes from the usual pickup routine need to be called to the front office by 2:30pm that day in order for us to notify your child's teacher in a timely manner. Please do not contact your teacher directly in case they don't have afternoon conference, have a sub that day, or happen to miss the message. Contacting the front office helps us make sure everyone involved with after school duty knows of the change.
