AB104 Reminders

Now that we are getting closer to graduation, here are some reminders regarding the AB104 Diploma Track:

Reminders to school counselors:

  • AB104 is to only be used as a safety net for students in the classes of 2021 and 2022 who have experienced challenges in reaching their graduation requirements due to hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Please make sure to have a conference with your student(s) and a parent/guardian (for students who are under 18) if your senior is not on track to meet our OUSD graduation requirements, and thus, graduation under AB104 is an option.
  • Please make sure that the AB104 Form is completed and signed once this conference has taken place.
  • Please provide a copy of this form to your school’s registrar and AP of Curriculum.

Reminders to school registrars:

  • Students who are graduating under AB104 will need to be hand-graduated in Aeries.
  • Once the AB104 Form has been completed, please scan a copy per student to Michele Stuetzel and she will complete the steps necessary in Aeries
  • Please file the original, completed AB104 Form in the student’s cumulative file AND collaborate with the counselors to ensure that a copy has been given to your Assistant Principal of Curriculum.

Updates on EMT and EMR courses

We are so excited to be strengthening our EMT and EMR courses. Our plan is to offer EMR for next school year as an in-the-bell class for our El Modena High students and as an after-the-bell class for students throughout the district.

The course will be a full year-long course and the goal for the pathway sequence is as follows:

02 Med Core (pre-requisite for EMR)

03 EMR (available 2022-23 school year)

03 EMT (we are hoping to open this up for the 2023-24 school year with a preference given to seniors)
