COUNSELING COUNSELING

CSU Direct Admission Program CSU Direct Admission Program

CSU Direct Admission Program

The CSU Direct Admission Program helps eligible students discover college opportunities and provides a clearer path to earning a CSU degree.

Eligible students may receive early admission opportunities from participating CSU campuses before applying. Students must still complete the Cal State Apply application and any required enrollment steps to finalize admission.

How It Works

  1. Eligible students are identified using academic data from participating schools or districts.

  2. Students receive an admission notification by mail or email.

  3. Students complete the Cal State Apply application and required enrollment steps.

Statewide Expansion

California's SB 640, effective January 1, 2026, expanded the program statewide. Full implementation begins with students applying for Fall 2027 admission.

Participating Campuses for Fall 2027

17 CSU campuses are participating.

The following campuses are not participating at this time:
CSU Fullerton, Long Beach, San Diego, San José, and San Luis Obispo.

Some majors at participating campuses may have additional admission requirements.

Understanding Your Student’s Grades Understanding Your Student’s Grades

Throughout the year, THS provides progress reports and grades approximately every six weeks to help families monitor student progress.

  • Progress Reports are a check-in showing how your student is doing so far, with time to improve.
  • Quarter Grades show progress at the end of each quarter.
  • Semester Grades in December and May are final grades that are recorded on the student’s transcript.

First quarter progress report grades are due on September 11 and can be viewed by families around September 18. Now is a great time to check Parent Portal for current grades, missing assignments, and attendance and talk with your student about how the year is starting. Need help with Parent Portal? Join us for an upcoming Parent Portal Workshop! See the flyers below for details.
