8th Grade Dinner Dance Updates - Help Needed

The planning is underway for the 8th grade dinner dance that is scheduled for Thursday June 18 at the Four Points Sheraton in Eastham 7pm-9pm. We have the venue and the DJ secured. We will soon send out a signup genius to organize food, drinks, decorations, chaperones, setup and clean up. We really need parents of 7th and 6th graders to step up and make sure this special event happens for our 8th grade class. Be on the lookout for more information and how you can help.

Hello NRMS Families,

The forecast indicates that maybe, just maybe spring has finally arrived. Today marks the end of the 3rd quarter and students will begin their 4th quarter exploratory courses on Monday. Spring sports have begun and we made it through the first round of MCAS testing this week. With one week to go until the April vacation week, this is the time of year that things move into hyper-speed. As principal, it is now that I have one foot in this school year and the other is looking ahead to the 2026-2027 school year. We are busy working on next year's schedule. The most important "fuel" for the scheduling process is student course requests. So, last call: if your 6th grader or 7th grade has not yet made their course selections for next year, now is the time. 6th graders need to select their world language choice and 7th graders need to fill their fourth exploratory opening with an elective. Please follow the steps in Aspen with your student to make these course requests as soon as possible. Thanks for your assistance with this important step in the scheduling process.

The Massachusetts House or Representatives just sent a bill to the State Senate that bans cell phones in schools. While we wait to see if this bill will become law, some parents have asked me for information about the "dumb phones" that I recommend if you must provide your child with a device to be able to reach them and or track their location. Without endorsing any single product, here are some "dumb phones" that are alternatives to smart phones. These products allow you to track your children without providing them access to social media.

Gabb Phones

Pinwheel Phones

Troomi Phones

Bark Phones

If you feel it is important to provide your child with a phone that can call and text, but do not want to expose them to the dangers of social media, I encourage you to explore these alternative options. And, it is OK to wait until high school to provide any cell phone to our children. Just blame the principal when you say "No!" when they beg for a phone.

Enjoy the weekend!

Nauset Athletics Boosters Club

Nauset Middle School Families,

We are excited to share that the Nauset Middle School chapter of the Nauset Athletics Boosters Club is getting started, and we are looking for parent volunteers to join us!

Our goal is to support and enhance the athletic experience for all students by helping to fundraise and assist with some of our staple events, including the Cross Country All Cape Meet and Basketball “Pack the Gym” Nights. These events are a great way to build school spirit and create memorable experiences for our student-athletes.

We invite you to get involved and be part of this important work. Our first meeting will be held virtually on:

Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM

Please join us using the following link:
