BWMS Family Update
1/9/26
BWMS - Welcome to 2026!
Greetings from BWMS.
Can you believe it is the year 2026? Although we have much to celebrate from the 1st semester of the school year, there is still much to still achieve. This is a great time to sit down with your student and talk about goals. Have your student develop 1-2 long term goals with 2-3 short term goals to help them accomplish their dream. Next, have them write it down where they can see the big picture goal daily and don't forget to check in within them about how things are going. Modeling the goal setting process from adults help students see the importance of setting goals and then recognize the intrinsic value of meeting those goals.
Enjoy the weekend,
Mr. Josh Frame

BWLS Book Drive
The Library Team is excited to share some book-tastic news… we’re hosting a Big Walnut Book Drive! From December 8th through January 31st, we’ll be collecting gently-used books to help grow reading opportunities for students across our district. If you have books looking for a new home, we’d love to give them one! You can drop off donations in any of the collection boxes located in our School Libraries. Just look for the Book Drive Signs/Red boxes—and the ever-growing stacks of stories waiting to be shared!
Thank you for helping us spread the joy of reading. Your generosity truly makes a difference, and we’re grateful for all the ways you support our readers.

BWMS National Junior Honor Society
Big Walnut Middle School continues to support a chapter of National Junior Honor Society. Any 7th or 8th grade student who qualifies, based on their grade point average, will be notified in January and given the opportunity to complete the application process. At the core of National Junior Honor Society are the pillars of Scholarship, Character, Leadership, Service and Citizenship, which guide the acceptance of members and the activities in which students will participate. A special thank you to BWMS PTO for making this possible by funding our initial chapter fees.
