October 16th, 2026
Dear Coopertown Families,
We've had another fantastic week of learning here at Coopertown! We enjoyed the warm weather out on the playground for recess. Students enjoyed participating in Reading Buddies. Our Best Buddies program kicked off with a game of Bocce and Coop Cares helped out by picking up around the grounds. Check-out the pictures below!
Our remaining construction projects continue to make good progress. The gym floor has been installed and furniture has been delivered in the library. We are looking forward to the completion of these projects and welcoming you to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Family Festival Information
Once again our school will host an evening to celebrate our Coopertown families. Our Coopertown Family Festival will allow us to come together as a community and strengthen our sense of belonging. Last year’s event was fantastic with over 20 families showcasing their culture or family traditions. I hope to make it even bigger this year!
Coopertown families are invited to showcase something special about their life to the Coopertown community.
- Thursday, November 5th. Doors will open at 5:45 PM for set-up in the gym.
- Gallery walk and sharing expo will begin at 6:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM.
- Families can do this alone or partner with other families
Some age appropriate ideas to consider for this event, but are not limited to: clothing, prepared food items, music, photos, sports and equipment, trophies, recreational activity, traditions/celebrations, a favorite hobby, artifacts, photos and other items that showcase your family or your group of families’ interests
If your presentation includes prepared food, be sure to label the ingredients of all food items.
If you do not wish to present, but would like to join the celebration, you are welcome to take part in the “gallery walk” from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This year students will be given a passport so they can stamp all of the countries they visit!

Coop Cares
Hello, Coop Cares Families!
Our first meeting was a wonderful success! We kicked off the year by reviewing our goals and expectations, then rolled up our sleeves to make a difference! Our hardworking students helped beautify our playground by collecting five bags of trash and two large bags of lost-and-found items. We are so proud of their teamwork, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping our school community. We look forward to a fantastic year of giving back and making a positive impact!
The next meeting is scheduled for November 17th from 3:45 - 4:30 pm.
Kind regards,
Ms. Livi & Mrs. Markland
InclYOUsion includes YOU!

Fall Sports
Field Hockey & Flag Football (Grades 4 & 5)
Mr. Nagle is coaching both Field Hockey and Flag Football again this year! We are so excited to see the Coopertown talent. The schedules are linked below. Dates are sometimes changed because of inclement weather. Mr. Nagle will communicate when practices or games are cancelled.
Flag Football games have begun and will continue through October 13th.
Field Hockey games have begun. This week was a tough loss against Chatham Park. Next week we play Manoa on their field!
📚 Scholastic Book Fair is Coming to Coopertown!
Get ready to find your next great read! Coopertown’s Scholastic Book Fair will be held the week of November 30th. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the school week and explore a great selection of books.
🌟 Family Night: Tuesday, December 1st from 4:00–7:00 PM
Bring the whole family, browse the Book Fair together, and help support a love of reading at Coopertown. We can’t wait to see you there! 📖🐾
Fidgets
We have noticed an increase in homemade 3D-printed items being brought to school and labeled as “fidgets.” While students may use fidgets appropriately as support tools, many of these items have increasingly become toys and distractions during the school day. We appreciate families helping us maintain a focused learning environment by keeping these items at home unless they are part of a student’s approved support plan.
October Lunch Menu
Lunch Menu/Free Reduced Lunch Information/School Cafe Information
We are officially in the new cafeteria. We are back to our regular menu it is below. In order for your child to purchase lunch, you can send in money to be added to their account or you can set up an account for them ahead of time using School Cafe. We attached the directions below for your convenience. To set this up, you will need your child's Student ID number which is located on the letter sent sharing your child's homeroom teacher. Visiting Coopertown
We are now using an iPad located at the entrance to the front office for visitor check-in. The iPad runs the Raptor Visitor Management System, which Coopertown uses to help manage and track visitors entering the building.
When you arrive at Coopertown, please use the iPad to begin the check-in process before entering the front office. Raptor helps us maintain a safe and secure school environment while making the visitor check-in process simple and efficient.
You can still use your driver’s license to check in. Simply click the “Sign In” button on the iPad and follow the on-screen steps to complete the check-in process.
Raptor Safe
For an even quicker check-in, families can use the Raptor Safe app. Parents, guardians, and visitors can create a Raptor Passport and verify their identity ahead of time. The app provides a secure QR code that can be used during the check-in process.
Having the Raptor Safe app set up ahead of time can help make your visit to Coopertown quicker and easier. We encourage families who regularly visit the school to download the app and set up their account before their next visit.

Volunteer Clearances
Who Needs Clearances
Under Act 153 of 2014 (Amendments to the Child Protective Services Law) effective December 31, 2014, as amended by Act 15 of 2015, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania now mandates that volunteers in schools must obtain and submit the clearances set forth below in order to be considered for volunteer positions.
Volunteer – is an adult, whose role is more than that of a visitor, who voluntarily offers a service to the district without receiving compensation from the district. A volunteer is not a school employee.
The two (2) classifications of volunteers are:
Position Volunteer - an adult applying for or holding an unpaid position with a district school or a program, activity or service, as a person responsible for children’s welfare or having direct volunteer contact with children. Examples include but are not limited to, field trip chaperones, tutors, coaches, activity advisors, recess or library aides, etc., which will require clearances.
Guest Volunteer - an adult who voluntarily provides a service to the district, without compensation, who: (1) works directly under the supervision and direction of a district administrator, teacher, or other members of the district staff; and (2) does not have direct volunteer contact as defined above. Examples include, but are not limited to, volunteering to assist in classroom celebrations, school assemblies, or school concerts; reading to students; collecting tickets at sporting events; working concession stands; participating in “Career Day,” etc., which will not require clearances. An individual volunteering in this capacity will still be required to provide a state driver's license/ID for main office staff to run through the district’s Raptor security system.
