Happy January, Huckleberry Heroes!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had some time to relax and recharge over the break. I am looking forward to all the wonderful learning and fun we will have in 2022! Our "Celebrating Who We Are" theme over the last couple of months has been so much fun here at HHS. I loved learning about what makes all of our Huckleberry Heroes special and unique as well as what brings us all together as one school family. Thank you for helping your child think about what makes them "one of a kind"! Check out the picture below to see our puzzle.

Dealing With Uncertainty in the Face of Omicron - Child Mind Institute

News of Omicron arrived just as we were heading into what we hoped would be a more relaxed and festive holiday season. And while we don't know yet how deadly the new variant will prove to be, it has already taken a toll by plunging us back into uncertainty.

Helping Kids With Flexible Thinking - Child Mind Institute

As the pandemic stretches on, we've all had to learn new skills to manage the stress: Bouncing back from disappointment, going with the flow when plans change unexpectedly, getting comfortable with change and managing uncertainty. It's exhausting. But there is an upside: Many of the skills we've been forced to practice rely on a key executive function called flexible thinking.

How Parent Support Groups Can Help - Child Mind Institute

When a child's challenges first emerge-whether it's at birth, as a toddler, or during the school years-parents often find themselves feeling not only confused but alone. You may not know anyone who's experienced the same kinds of problems, and it may feel too painful to share the details of what you're going through with friends whose kids seem to be sailing through all their milestones.
