Message From the Principal

It’s a great day to be an Eagle!

As we enter the month of November, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude and the power it has in bringing us together as a community. This is a time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the many things that make Eagle Ridge such a special place to learn and grow. I am incredibly thankful for our dedicated staff, our inspiring students, and the supportive families who partner with us every day. You are what makes Eagle Ridge not just a school, but a true community.

During this busy season, life can quickly become filled with stress and distractions. I encourage each of us to take a moment every day to think about what we are thankful for. A simple reflection can make a big difference in how we approach the challenges and joys of each day.

In the spirit of giving, our Student Leadership Team is collecting non-perishable food items to support families within our own community who may be experiencing a difficult time. If your family is able, we would greatly appreciate any donations to help ensure that all Eagle Ridge families have the food they need during this season.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for making Eagle Ridge such a wonderful place to be.

🌻 November Counseling Newsletter

Happy Fall from the Eagle Ridge Counseling Department!

Can you believe we’ve made it to November? As we enter a season of gratitude and togetherness, November is a wonderful time to focus on family connection, communication, and emotional wellness. Below are some helpful parenting tips and resources to support your child’s learning and social-emotional growth this month!

🍂 Parenting Tips for a Smooth November

1. Prioritize Family Connection Opportunities: Connection doesn’t have to be extravagant or complicated- you just have to be together! Consider Integrating: Going on a fall walk, sharing a meal together (screens free), or having a family game night or puzzle night

2. Keep Routines Consistent: With holidays approaching, schedules can get busy. Consistent bedtimes, screen limits, and homework expectations help students feel secure and focused.

3. Have a family gratitude practice: Encourage your child to notice the good around them. Try: Three Good Things” before bed, A family gratitude jar, Thank-you notes to teachers, friends & helpers

Looking for educational resources to support your parenting journey?

Here are 3 research-based parenting books:

  1. The Whole-Brain Child by Dan Siegel & Tina Payne Bryson
This book explains how children’s brains develop and why big emotions can be overwhelming for them. It offers simple strategies parents can use to help kids stay calm, learn from challenges, and build healthy emotional connections.

  2. Parenting from the Inside Out by Dan Siegel & Mary Hartzell
This book helps parents gain self-awareness by reflecting on their own childhood experiences to better understand how those shape their parenting today.

  3. Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors by Robyn Gobbel
Designed for families navigating challenging behavior, this book provides trauma-informed tools to understand what children’s actions may be communicating.

As we move through this season of gratitude, we are thankful for our incredible families and the opportunity to partner together to support your students. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are in need of resources, guidance, or support. 💛

Warmly

Linda Lieber and Laura Miller
