MIDDLE SCHOOL SOUTH

Good afternoon,

What great first days to open the year! We know that the first days are filled with learning routines and meeting new teachers! As we keep moving forward, our students should feel more at ease. I hope all enjoyed the first days of school.

Please remember to reach out to staff with questions! We are all here for you and your children

Tomorrow is PICTURE MAKE UP DAY! This is for any student that did not get a picture taken on schedule pick up! We will begin taking pictures at 9am.

OPEN HOUSES: 6:30-7:30 pm

Come meet your teachers this week!

6th grade Open House is Tuesday, August 22nd

7th & 8th grade Open Houses are Wednesday, August 23rd

You will have the opportunity to walk your child's schedule and meet the teachers. This is not a full conference space due to the time limits, but please say hello!

Monday will be our first DEN of the year. Students received DEN room numbers on their schedules. Students will report to DEN first thing in the morning! DENS are small groups of students with an adult in our building. DENS will be every Monday am! We will be building relationships, setting goals, discussing multiple topics and kicking off the week right. Every student and adult is important at GMSS

We recognize that lockers are new to many of our students. Teachers will be working with all students to feel comfortable with locker combinations and organizing their day for classes! Students are doing a great job navigating this to start.

Lunch codes are your student ID. These codes do not change from elementary. Please find the form for free/reduced lunch support on the GJPSfood.com

Due to the district policies and allergies of students, we are unable to have donut parties etc at lunch.

In addition, students often want to door dash. While we are supportive, door dash must not take away from class time if they are late and students with outside food may be asked to eat in the office or conference room as the disruption in the cafeteria is proving more than middle school students can manage.

Reminder that our spirit wear sale is still in full swing! This event ends August 31st!
