The 100th day of school is Tuesday! We encourage students and staff to dress as their future self. When we think of what makes a successful graduate, often the first thing that comes to mind is a Mastery Learner. We think of grades and academics and content knowledge. All of these are important to help shape and prepare us for life after school. But being a mastery learner is not just about how well we remember facts or our ability to take a test. A master learner goes deeper within themself, using skills and competencies that enhance their knowledge.

• reasons using discipline/content specific skills
• makes adjustments as required based on new knowledge and experiences
• applies learned content to settings and contexts beyond the classroom
• applies a growth mindset to persevere when engaging with novel ideas, situations, and challenges
