BWMS Family Update
10/31/25
Remember to Fall Back this Weekend!
BWMS Families,
Can you believe that this weekend we will fall back? With the benefit of an extra hour of sleep comes earlier darkness each day. We are hopeful that the extra sleep will help our kids with continued attention and engagement in class as well as energy for some extra events below.
First, make sure your student knows that our first Eagles Night is next Friday from 4:30PM-6:30PM. Cost is $5 at the door and this event is sponsored by our SOAR Leadership & Student Council and will feature a number of fun activities. In addition, check out below how you can help with our district-wide food drive as BWLSD is responsible for cans of green beans or corn.
One final note, our Veterans Day Breakfast is coming up on Friday, November 14th. We would love to have all of our local heroes registered using this link by Monday. Thank you for helping us honor or Veterans.
Have a great weekend,
~Mr. Josh Frame

Delaware County Food Drive
Big Walnut Local Schools (BWLS) will once again participate in the Delaware County “Hunger Games” initiative. The goal of this initiative is to provide families in need with the essentials for a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Each of our buildings will be responsible for collecting green beans and/or corn, which will contribute to the assembly of meal kits for families in need throughout Delaware County. The collection period will begin on Monday, November 3rd, and end on Friday, November 14th.
6th Grade Outdoor Education Trip
Big Walnut Middle School is organizing exciting extended day trips for our 6th grade students. Camp Nuhop staff will be leading the days, in conjunction with BWMS teachers, at Camp Nuhop facilities during your student’s scheduled dates. This trip will allow your student to experience outdoor education tailored to supplement the sixth-grade content standards. Activities will address the core subject areas and related arts areas. Over the two days, students will participate in a variety of outdoor activities to enhance their learning.
