AVA Family Update

Good afternoon AVA students and families,
I thought we had a pretty smooth start this week. If you didn't perceive it that way, please reach out to me. In addition to the usual community updates and important dates below, I have a few things of note.
1. Next week's schedule is attached below. This is how most of our weeks will look in terms of start times. Of note, we have a schedule switch: Ms. Poyet's block is now 6 instead of 7. It is reflected in the attachment below.
2. School Picture Day is September 17th. If you wish to have a picture taken for a new school ID or a yearbook photo, you will need to attend. Seniors who hope to be in the yearbook will need to follow a different process for that, but are welcome to come in for an ID photo. Any seniors wishing to be included in the yearbook should reach out to me.
3. Lastly, AHS is having its Back To School Night on Thursday. For a brief time during that event, our teachers will make themselves available in their google meets for families. The window is 6-8 PM. I will send out a schedule on Thursday morning if you want to login and hear from teachers directly about their expectations. I will have an office hour as well.
As I told the students in Advisory this week, all AHS events/sports/clubs/dances are open to them, and I will communicate this information in Advisory. Senior Planning Night at AHS is an event that is open to AVA families as well, and events like that will appear in the important dates below so families can be informed.
