Oasis Newsletter

Introduction
Hello students and family members,
My name is Emily Shiner and I am excited to be the principal of Oasis Alternative Middle and High School. I am eager to work alongside our dedicated staff to support you and your students throughout the year!
This is my 8th year with MPPS and my third year as an administrator within the district. I have worked mainly as special education teacher within a variety of grade levels and needs, and was the Whole Child Coordinator at Fancher elementary for the last two years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and Special Education (CI), as well as a Masters in Educational Administration. My passion has been working with students and their individualized needs to make sure we are offering them all of the best services that we can to help them grow. I look forward to continuing that passion here at Oasis.
I have lived in Mount Pleasant for the last 14 years and love this town! Originally a Yooper, I have found a wonderful life here and am happy to be part of this wonderful community. I am often found exploring, exercising, and fishing the beautiful Chippewa River in my downtime.
It takes a team effort to help our students grow into community members and I hope to be a partner with you to help your student, or yourself, reach their best potential.
Warm Regards -
Emily Shiner
