The Wayne-Westland Wrap Up- February 27, 2026
Dear Wayne-Westland Families,
Do you know anyone from the Class of 2039? You do if you have a child who will be ready for kindergarten this fall. We invite you to join us for Kindergarten Round Up on March 13 at any of our amazing elementary schools here in Wayne-Westland.
During Kindergarten Round Up, families will learn about our kindergarten curriculum, meet teachers and staff, tour the school and explore enrollment options.
Families can also learn about our Young 5s program, designed for students who are age-eligible for kindergarten but may benefit from an easier transition into school.
Young 5s is a full school day and follows the elementary calendar, including the start and end times. Students will have the same core areas of instruction and special classes, including music, art, physical education, life skills, and media.
What if you don’t live in the Wayne-Westland Community Schools attendance area? Wayne-Westland Community Schools offers a school of choice program for kindergarten through high school, welcoming families from across Wayne County and surrounding areas.
Mark your calendar for Kindergarten Round Up on March 13. We can’t wait to meet you!
Sincerely,
Catherine Cost, Ed.D.
Interim Superintendent
