Permenter Longhorn Check In

We have spent the first week of school ensuring all of our scholars know our expectations - in and out of the classroom. Each day an in-depth lesson has been delivered to clarify expectations for dress code, cafeteria, hallways and procedures for arrival and dismissal each day. We are thankful for our All Pro Dads who volunteer daily to keep our scholars safe and provide assistance as they are dropped off each morning. Our partnership with CHISD police and security is another valuable measure of safety with one common goal: the safety of our scholars. Please help us by adhering to their guidance and instructions.

Friday we had grade level assemblies to ensure everyone knows the expectations. Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind. Although it is everyone's individual responsibility to review the dress code and code of conduct, the time spent reviewing in person was a worthy investment.

• If your scholar started the school year with an unnatural hair color (blue, pink, bright red, orange, etc.) they have until October 5th to correct it and get the color within CHISD dress code.
• We will begin holding students accountable for dress code, tardies, and ID badges Monday, August 21st.
• All backpacks for the 23-24 school year must be clear or made of mesh material. Backpacks not in compliance with this district mandate must be left in the front office in the morning and collected at the end of the school day.
• Girls' volleyball tryouts are happening soon. Candidates must have all paperwork submitted to tryout and attend each day. For more information, please contact either Coach Dieckmann or Coach Landry.
• We will continue distributing Chromebooks to scholars this week. Families are financially responsible for lost or damaged Chromebooks. Insurance is available and worth the investment. Click here to learn more information and sign up for insurance for your scholar's Chromebook.
• If you want your scholar to ride the school bus to and or from school, you must complete the transportation registration process. That is funneled through the transportation department. More information can be found here. All questions pertaining to school year 2023-2024 routes should be forwarded to Transportation Routing at 972-293-5599 ext. 104.

Parents are not allowed to bring their scholars lunch to secondary campuses in CHISD including Permenter Middle School. No deliveries of any kind will be accepted: Uber Eats, Door Dash, family members, etc. Additionally, scholars may not have guests for lunch.
