Principal Batten's Weekly Message
Good evening V3A students, families, and staff. This is Dr. Batten, Principal of Vance Virtual Village Academy with your Huskies Weekly News: https://v3a.online/HWN
This is Week 8 of the Q1 grading period. There is NO SCHOOL for students on Monday or Tuesday this week due. Staff have an optional workday on Monday and a required professional development workday on Tuesday. AIG students DO have the the AIG Signing Event Monday at VCS central office (ASC). AIG students can drop by any time between 8:30a - 4:30p. While there is no school Monday or Tuesday, this IS an excellent time to catch up on missing work. The last day for students to submit work for the Q1 grading period is Friday, October 24 so it is imperative that student attend ALL Zoom classes and complete ALL assignments as Q1 ends soon.
We are participating in the Kids Heart Challenge (http://heart.org/schools) to learn more about our hearts, making healthy choices, and how to save others through "hands only" CPR. Sign up TODAY and learn Hands-Only CPR, the warning signs of a stroke and help kids with special hearts by completing Finn’s Mission! Download the AHA Schools app for iPhone or Android and sign up! Next, send 10 emails or texts to family and friends asking for their support! Once you complete Finn’s Mission you’ll receive your own lifesavers cape and be entered to win Super Bowl LXI tickets in 2027!

V3A/NuMe Counseling Partnership. Optional Grades 6th-8th "Get Empowered" SEL classes Tuesdays via Google Meet or Zoom. Parent/Guardians MUST complete a Consent form (Google Docs, PDF) in order for students to be able to participate. STARTING October 21st.

On behalf of Varonica “VV” Mitchell and The VV Show Team, we are thrilled to share with your students and families about The VV Show's upcoming Free Community Reading Event:
VV’s Where Them Books At –Free Reading Event
Date: Monday, October 13, 2025
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This event is free and open to school-age children, with a focus on promoting Books Over Bullies!
Event Highlights:
Engaging book readings for grades Pre-K through 6th grade.
Free Italian Ice provided by VV’s Brand Partner Mac Scoops Italian Ice, featuring VV’s signature flavor “The VV Blast.”
Kids will go home with on VV
Opportunity for students to meet and be inspired by Varonica “VV” Mitchell.

Volunteer Applications Available Online
If you have someone interested in becoming a volunteer, they can now complete the application online! It is also still available in paper form. The application can be accessed on the VCS website under Community...or the direct link to the online application is https://bit.ly/VolunteerVCS.
The Process:
1. Application Submission Online (or paper copy turned in to Communications)
2. Applications processed through Communications
3. Background Check initiated by HR
4. Prospective Volunteer completes information from BiB in email
5. HR reviews the results upon BiB completion
6. Communications contact prospective volunteers with results
7. If approved, the volunteer must pick up a badge and is added to the official volunteer list.
Please note, the volunteer application may take up to 2-weeks to process.

AIG Signing Day
AIG students/parents can come to any of the signing sessions to sign their AIG Differentiated Education Plans (DEPs).
