May 2025 May 2025

From the Principal From the Principal

Hello KHS families,

There is so much to celebrate this month! As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we want to take time to recognize the incredible effort our students and staff have put into recent testing. Kimberly High School earned its highest ACT composite score since the state required all juniors to take the ACT. From the ACT and PreACT to the MAP and Forward exams, their dedication has been evident. While we cannot release official school scores, we are already seeing remarkable growth from individual students and across our school community. I’m proud of the persistence and commitment our students show each and every day.

We’ve also had some outstanding achievements outside the classroom:

  • DECA students represented Kimberly at the highest level at the ICDC conference in Orlando, FL.

  • Our music students performed incredibly well at State Solo and Ensemble.

    • KHS had 64 total events. 48 of those events earned a 1st division rating.

    • 11 events were nominated for an Exemplary Performance Award. Julia Schultz was selected as a recipient of the Exemplary Performance Award. Congratulations Julia!

  • Over 500 students will be taking more than 700 AP exams this month—best of luck to all!

Next week is Staff Appreciation Week, and I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for our incredible staff. The dedication, care, and professionalism they bring every day make KHS a wonderful place to learn and grow. I hope you’ll join me in recognizing their efforts and finding a moment to share your appreciation.

We are also gearing up for graduation and other end-of-year milestones. Please mark your calendars for these important academic events:

  • National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
    Sunday, May 4th – 4:30 PM – KHS Auditorium
(Invitations have been sent to new inductees.)

  • Senior Awards Night
    Wednesday, May 28th – 6:00 PM – KHS Auditorium

  • Graduation Ceremony
    Wednesday, June 4th – 6:00 PM – KHS Gymnasium
We can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2025!

Finally, thank you for your support throughout this school year. The accomplishments of our students—in academics, the arts, clubs, and athletics—are the result of a shared commitment from students, staff, families, and our entire community. The energy, passion, and dedication that fill our halls are truly inspiring.

Wishing everyone a strong finish to the school year and a restful, joyful summer ahead!

With great Papermaker pride,

Mrs. DePeau

Principal

2025-2026 Student Schedules 2025-2026 Student Schedules

Kimberly High School Students and Families,

Tentative 2025-2026 student schedules will be emailed to students’ school email accounts on Friday, May 23rd. These tentative schedules will contain a student’s classes, but not the teacher names or room numbers. Final schedules will be released in August that contain those details. The classes in the schedule released on May 23rd will remain the same in August, but the order and semester or term for those classes could change. Please note, where a lunch is positioned in a schedule is not yet finalized.

A window to request schedule changes will run from the start of the school day on Tuesday, May 27th, until 3:00 PM on Friday, May 30th. Schedule change requests will be considered on a limited basis and for the following reasons only:

  1. A senior is missing a course that is required for graduation.

  2. A clerical error was made and a duplicate course was placed into a schedule.

  3. A schedule does not contain enough credits and a student is requesting a course to fill that space.

  4. A student is missing a required course such as a physical education course, or a grade-level English course (i.e. English 10 for a sophomore is not in the schedule, etc.).

  5. A student is missing a required prerequisite for a course that was placed into their schedule

Schedule change requests will not be accepted for the following reasons:

  1. A student wishes to have a class during a different time during the day.

  2. A student wishes to have a specific lunch.

  3. A student wishes to take their physical education class during a different quarter due to a sport.

Please note, due to the volume of requests, counselors are unable to respond to calls or emails about a requested change. Students will know the status of a requested change following the August release date.

Thank you!

Triumph Program

The Triumph Program is a short-term (typically 9-12 weeks) mental health intervention for students in grades 9-12 from Kimberly, Kaukauna, and Little Chute High Schools. The Triumph program provides a balanced approach to address student mental health needs while supporting their academic progress. With a small academic class size, individualized therapy, daily group sessions, and focused academic support students are able to be fully supported and succeed. Students attend Triumph for a half day programming (Blocks 1 & 2 or Blocks 3 & 4) and Kimberly High School for the other half of their day. Triumph programming is offered free of charge for qualifying students in these districts. The Triumph program was established in January of 2017 and has served over 400 students. If you believe your student would benefit from the Triumph program, please reach out to your child's school counselor for more information.

KHS Art Students Participate in Nationwide Congressional Competition

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school art competition to recognize and inspire the continued artistic talent in our youth. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. This is the 44th year of this competition. The three winners will be announced in May; the first place winner’s artwork will be on display in Washington D.C. in the tunnel that connects the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Capitol. The second place winner will have their work on display in Madison at the State Capitol. The third place student will have their work on display at the local congressional district’s office. Congratulations to our KHS Art Students! The reception for these students and their families is Tuesday April 15th, from 5-7pm at The Neville Public Museum in Green Bay.

I am proud of our students for pushing themselves to create pretty amazing original artwork that can be a part of prestigious national competitions as this one!

See their Congressional show entries here.

KHS Art Students Share Art with Senior Citizens

The Touchmark Art Show is designed to connect the youth with the community, specifically senior citizens. Touchmark Assisted Living Center in Appleton invited area high schools to each choose three students to participate. The students were asked to create any work of art that they would be willing to talk about and share with the folks living in the assisted living community. This is a way to bring joy, kindness, empathy, and a sharing bridge between generations of ages. Touchmark kindly is giving away some great monetary prizes.

The enthusiasm from the students to share their work, and talk with the senior citizens living at the assisted living facility was a beautiful thing!

See the artwork that they shared here.
