CMS Update!

Hello CMS families!

Our students began the M-STEP test this week. Students in 6th grade and 7th grade took the mathematics portion. Students in 8th grade took the science portion. Next week on Tuesday and Thursday the 8th grade students will be taking the social studies portion of the M-STEP while 6th and 7th grade students will be taking the ELA portion of the M-STEP. Please continue to discuss with your child about the importance of giving their best effort on these assessments.

I am very proud of the tremendous effort that students have given on the test so far. I am also proud of both students and staff for managing different daily schedules on testing days. Lastly, I want to thank the parents/guardians for doing such a great job of making sure the students are at school on time and staying here for the whole school day.

Please also make note of some important dates listed below:

Tuesday, June 2: 8th grade promotion - Pride Stadium - 6:00 pm

Wednesday, June 3: 6th and 7th grade academic award celebrations - during the school day in CMS gymnasium (time TBD)

Happy Principal’s Day, Mr. Wozniak! CMS is truly fortunate to have you. Your leadership and the genuine care you show for both students and staff make a lasting impact on our entire school community. You are an outstanding role model, and we appreciate all that you do.

It takes a special kind of person to show up for middle schoolers with patience and energy every single day. This month, we’re recognizing three teachers who are doing exactly that. CMS truly showed up for our annual Talent Show! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our incredibly talented students—it meant so much to them.
