Wildcat Families,

We had a packed week! Please read the entire newsletter below for important information.

There will be no school on Monday in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day.

Parents - we need your help! We are a cell phone free school. However, we have encountered some situations where students are getting calls from parents in the middle of class. PLEASE continue to communicate via our school office during the school day to avoid a technology/ device violation for your child during class. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students are focused on instruction in the classroom.

-Ms. Rivera & Ms. Rockwell

Celebrating Our Community’s Diversity Celebrating Our Community’s Diversity

The cities of Fairfield and Suisun City are two of the most diverse communities in California. To honor that diversity, each week FSUSD will be sharing information about the cultures that make up our extra special learning community.

October 14 is Indigenous Peoples Day. This day celebrates and honors Indigenous American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. It is celebrated across the United States on the second Monday in October. Indigenous Peoples Day was instituted in Berkeley, California, in 1992, to coincide with the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Columbus in the Americas on October 12, 1492. In 2021, Joe Biden formally commemorated the holiday with a presidential proclamation, becoming the first U.S. president to do so, and presidential proclamations have also been issued in 2022 and 2023.

Volleyball

B.Gale Wilson Wildcats showed great resilience in the face of a tough loss to the Green Valley Vikings, with a final set score of 8-15. Despite the outcome, the team demonstrated unwavering determination and left everything on the court. Both teams showcased equal skill, and we look forward to the next opportunity to come out on top.

See game schedule below:

Cross Country

The Cross Country teams had their first race yesterday and both the boys and girls teams came in 1st place against Grange and Crystal Middle Schools. The girls team had a perfect score of 1st-5th place in their division. The boys team also took 1st place. Great job by both teams. Next race is here next Wednesday.

Flag Football

Our flag football team played a hard game against Green Valley. They took a hard loss, with a final score of 21-20.
