Safety & Security Update 2/20/26

Dear Saint Ambrose Parents,

My own prayer life has grown significantly since the pandemic. The challenges we faced in education during that period were significant, and more than ever before in my life, I became dependent on prayer to function.

I am in no way saying I have arrived in the habit of prayer. I definitely falter, experience the desert and lose focus, but it is not hyperbolic to state that a commitment to prayer has saved me. Being human includes incredible joy and inevitably, suffering.

As a leader, I endeavor to keep our mission at the focus, and invite all of our stakeholders to partner with us in our mission. Because we are humans, we will experience challenging situations and conflict within our community. My prayer is that I can lead with magnanimity-through the celebrations and challenges that are part of life.

This week, I am inviting all of our community members to join me in praying daily the Litany of Trust. If you are like me, there will be lines or parts of this prayer that resonate more than others for you.

I believe in the power of prayer, and ask for your prayers for our Saint Ambrose community.

Before School Activities

To ensure a safe and organized start to the day, we will now have a staff member stationed at the main school entrance from 7:45–8:30 a.m. to supervise student drop-off and help direct students to their appropriate locations for before school activities. This added supervision will help ensure that all students arrive safely and transition smoothly to their activities. All students arriving before school for any activities should enter through the main school doors. This is a change from some previous procedures for certain activities, and we appreciate your attention to this update. Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for all of our students. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Are you in need of child care April 7th, 8th and 9th? Please consider our Swarm Extended Day Care. Spots are filling quickly and will be limited. Fill out the form here!

Book Fair Update

Thank you to Rosanna Bamsey and Sarah Foote for chairing this book fair and to all of our wonderful volunteers for making the Ignatius Book Fair possible. Your time, energy, and support made a meaningful difference for our students and school, and we are so grateful. Also, a big thank you to all the families that donated books to classroom libraries. We appreciate your generosity.

As we look ahead, please take a moment to complete the survey below to help guide decisions about what our Book Fairs may look like next year. Your feedback is truly appreciated.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid Applications are due March 16th. Our Financial Aid Committee will consider all applications and make recommendations to us regarding the distribution of our financial aid dollars. We will make every effort to work with families so Saint Ambrose School is open to all. However, our assistance funds are limited, and we may not have funds available for those who do not apply by the deadline. Applications can be submitted online at www.tads.com. When you apply, mark the “Aim Higher Scholarship” and the “CSAF Scholarship” as those are two opportunities for our school to receive funding to support families in need.

Recess Help

If you love the cold and enjoy children, we need recess help. Let us know if you are interested.

Bus Transportation

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo) will use an opt-in transportation system for the 2026-27 school year to help ensure the most efficient routing for students eligible to ride a school bus. The form can be found here. Every family must complete the opt-in form by Friday, March 13, 2026.

Litany of Trust

From the belief that I have to earn Your love … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear that I am unlovable … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the false security that I have what it takes … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear that trusting You will leave me more destitute … Deliver me, Jesus.

From all suspicion of Your words and promises … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the rebellion against childlike dependency on You … Deliver me, Jesus.

From refusals and reluctances in accepting Your will … Deliver me, Jesus.

From anxiety about the future … Deliver me, Jesus.

From resentment or excessive preoccupation with the past … Deliver me, Jesus.

From restless self-seeking in the present moment … Deliver me, Jesus.

From disbelief in Your love and presence … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being asked to give more than I have … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the belief that my life has no meaning or worth … Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of what love demands … Deliver me, Jesus.

From discouragement … Deliver me, Jesus.

That You are continually holding me, sustaining me, loving me … Jesus, I trust in you.

That Your love goes deeper than my sins and failings, and transforms me …Jesus, I trust in you.

That not knowing what tomorrow brings is an invitation to lean on You … Jesus, I trust in you.

That You are with me in my suffering … Jesus, I trust in you.

That my suffering, united to Your own, will bear fruit in this life and the next …Jesus, I trust in you.

That You will not leave me orphan, that You are present in Your Church…Jesus, I trust in you.

That Your plan is better than anything else … Jesus, I trust in you.

That You always hear me, and in Your goodness always respond to me …Jesus, I trust in you.

That You give me the grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others …Jesus, I trust in you.

That You give me all the strength I need for what is asked …Jesus, I trust in you.

That my life is a gift … Jesus, I trust in you.

That You will teach me to trust You … Jesus, I trust in you.

That You are my Lord and my God … Jesus, I trust in you.

That I am Your beloved one … Jesus, I trust in you.

Amen.

Saint Ambrose Way and Faith Virtue: Embracing the Virtue of Patience

Saint Ambrose Way and Faith Virtue: Embracing the Virtue of Patience

As we enter the month of February, we are excited to introduce a special focus on the virtue of patience. We recognize that patience helps us slow down, show kindness, and respond with calm when things do not go our way. We all make mistakes, and patience allows us to give ourselves and others the time and grace needed to learn and grow. We acknowledge that we are all sinners, and God shows great patience with us—loving and forgiving us again and again when we are truly sorry.. Through the practice of patience, we learn to pause before reacting, to listen carefully, and to respond with understanding and compassion. We strive to practice the virtue of patience while also demonstrating the St. Ambrose Way of being accountable. We want to own our actions and always be truthful. We aspire to be humble—by not bragging when we win and by responding calmly when we lose. When we practice patience and accountability, we are better able to hear and see God in those around us.

Let’s work together to make February a month filled with calm hearts, thoughtful choices, and grace for one another. Patience is powerful—and it is healing. Wishing you and your family a month filled with patience, accountability, and peace.
