• We are getting a new online resource at JBE called iReady. We will send home information soon about how to login and will have a help station at our next Family Involvement Night.
• Student Council Elections are this week for 4th & 5th Grade. This can be a stressful time for students. Please remind your students that there are way more students running than there are spots on the council. All students can be leaders and make a difference in their community. Simply running shows bravery and leadership.
• Progress Reports will be coming home this Friday, September 22nd in Friday Folders.
• Thank You to the Jonesburg Elementary PTO, Jonesburg Optimist and Jonesburg Lion's for sponsoring a whole school field trip to Rooster's Pumpkin Patch. Please return your student's permission slip as soon as possible. They were sent home in last weeks Friday Folder.
• Friday Folders will come home each Friday and often contain important information. Please make it a priority to check the folder and return needed documentation promptly.

Please make sure that you call in (833-662-6228 press 5 then press 1) prior to 8:30 if your child is going to be absent so that we can record the reason before we begin making contact. If communication is not received in regard to student absences a few things may happen.

• You will receive an automated message letting you know your student is absent. (We have a new system and are still working out the kinks. Please call us immediately if you believe the message is inaccurate.)
• You may receive a personal call from our office staff.
• You may receive a visit from Deputy King, our SRO, or Kylee Waite, our MCR2 Social Worker.
• You will receive our 3-day, 5-day and 8-day attendance letters regardless of calling in. These letters are board policy and are sent to all student families when they hit the 3, 5, & 8 day threshold.

JBE Change the World Day is back. This Wednesday, September 20th we are raising money and awareness for NRG Packs. NRG provides weekend bags of food for families in need in the MCR2 District. Bring your change, donate, and wear your hat on Wednesday, September 20th to support NRG.

MCHS Student Council has invited to participate in Homecoming Week with them. Your student is welcome to participate in any or all of the days!

Have you seen the renovations that have happened at Jonesburg Elementary over the past couple of years? Well, now's your chance! We are opening the doors to the public on Tuesday, October 17th from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.. This will be an Open House setting where you can come in and take a look at the classrooms, renovations, and upgrades!

We are SO PROUD of our facility and are excited to share it with you! We welcome you to come see for yourself how much progress has been made at Jonesburg Elementary. Feel free to invite your family and friends to come see where our students learn and grow each day!

MCR2 athletics and extracurricular activities are essential to our school culture, and our students benefit from their peers, family, and community members' support of these activities. The district asks that guests follow some basic guidelines to help make the activities a safe and fun experience for all spectators.

• Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are strictly prohibited on our campus.
• Pets are also prohibited on our campus. Any animal on campus should follow BOE policy about service animals.
• All spectators are expected to remain within the general area of the activity they are attending (football game-concessions area or in the stands, basketball game-concessions area or in the gym, etc.). We also ask that students not throw balls or other objects during the activity.
• We expect elementary students to attend with a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
• Please park in designated parking spots only so that all other areas of the buildings are accessible as needed. For outdoor events, special permission is required to park inside the gates (between the football stadium and the baseball diamond).

Help us recognize the great things happening at MCR2 by filling out the Wildcat Award Nomination Form when you notice a staff member doing great things!

The district will be recognizing our outstanding staff members again this year with monthly Wildcat Awards, and at the end of the year reception. Please nominate as many of our staff as you wish for a Wildcat Award.

Like last year, Wildcat Awards will be given each month and all nominees will receive their notes at our end of the year celebration!

We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.

It is important that you have a consistent routine for your child to follow at the end of each day. If you need to make a change to your child’s normal routine you must send a note with your child in the morning.

In an emergency, you may call, but you MUST speak to a secretary before 2pm. Do not leave a message on the school answering service. The answering service is to report absences only, and it is not checked throughout the day. ONLY call in the event of an emergency. A note should be sent if you know in advance of a schedule change.

We will not make any changes after 2pm. Our goal is to get every student safely to their correct destination at the end of each day. We need your help to make sure this happens.
