Principal's Weekly Update
Week of January 27-31
Administrator's Message 🐾
Dear Wildcat Families,
This week, we conducted MAP makeups. We will be looking at student scores, and will be celebrating students who met and exceeded their growth goals for the reading and math tests on February 5th. We will be asking for parent volunteers via ParentSquare to help make this event happen - please be on the lookout! The event will be 2:30-3:15pm.
We've noticed more students riding their bikes and scooters to school without helmets. Please make sure they have their helmet AND are wearing it! It is important that we work together to ensure they are safe as they travel to and from school, and we need your partnership enforcing this expectation.
Celebrating Our Community's Diversity
The cities of Fairfield and Suisun City are two of the most diverse communities in California. To honor that diversity, each week FSUSD will be sharing information about the cultures that make up our extra special learning community.
The United National General Assembly designated January 27, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this annual day of commemoration, the UN urges us to honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazism.
The day was designated by United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 on 1 November 2005. The resolution came after a special session was held earlier that year on 24 January to mark the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps and the end of the Holocaust.
BGW Happenings
Spelling Bee
Our site spelling bee will be held on Tuesday, January 28th. This event will take place after school in room 20, starting no later than 3:30pm, and should last for about an hour (depending on the outcomes of the competition.) Friends and family are welcome to attend and support their speller. The top two finalists will move on to the county-wide spelling bee that will take place on Saturday, March 1st.
Class Requests for 25/26
Our school counselor Ms. Escobar visited PE classes for current 6th and 7th graders to complete their class requests for next school year. This is the presentation that was shared with students. The student and parent portal is available for viewing and editing until January 28th.
