News from the Principal
Three weeks of wonderful learning have already taken place. Next week is a busy week. Just a few things to know about our first school-wide events.
August 26th: Early Release 12:50 p.m. Be sure to update Pick Up Patrol if your child will have a different transportation plan for that day.
August 27th: Curriculum Night 6:00 p.m. We will start in the auditorium to meet the staff and hear PTA and general school announcements before moving to your child’s classroom to hear from your teacher.
August 28th: Community Circle - All invited. Plan to arrive at 8:15. This year, we will implement our Visitor Management System for all events held during the school day. Be sure to have your ID with you. You will check in at one of the Check-in stations and enter the auditorium breezeway doors. At the conclusion of Community Circle, the students will exit the auditorium and return to class. At that time, a QR code will appear on the screen for parents to scan to complete checkout. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we try this system for large events.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming Westchester events:
September 2nd-4th: CogAt testing - First Grade
September 7th: Labor Day, No School
September 18th: Community Circle - all invited
September 21st-25th: Fall Break
From your very grateful principal,
Christine Knox

Conditions that render attendance impossible or hazardous to students' health or safety.
Registering to vote or voting in a public election, which shall not exceed one day.
A student whose parent or legal guardian is in military service in the U. S. armed forces or National Guard, and such parent has been called to duty for or is on leave from overseas deployment to a combat zone or combat support posting, will be granted up to 5 days of excused absences per school year to visit with his or her parent prior to the parent's deployment or during the parent's leave.
