Learning About Resilience
Jimmy J Misses a Block for a Goal
It is completely normal to feel disappointed when we don't win a point! But being a good sport means showing respect to the other team, even when we lose. Instead of pouting, Jimmy J can take a deep breath and try saying, 'Great shot, Mr. Bigelow!' or 'I'll get it next time!' That is how a true teammate plays."
Chromebook Insurance
We strongly encourage families to purchase Device Insurance. MySchoolBucks invoicing will begin at the end of October, so if you check your MySchoolBucks account at the end of the month, you’ll notice an option has been added to buy insurance. Chromebook repairs can be very costly compared to the insurance fee which is $10.00.
Incidents/repairs/replacements that have occurred since the first day of school will be charged if the student does not have insurance for their device. Device insurance purchased by October 31 goes into effect retroactively.

JMUES Snow Sports!
Find the Snow Sports Information and the Sign-Up Form Below
For anyone planning to participate in the JMUES snow sports program, please fill out this online form here:2026/27 Snow Sports Information and Bus Lottery
It is time to start thinking about the JMUES Snow Sports Program! For those of you that are new to the school or have been with us before, our sign-up may be different from your previous school or how we did it in years past!
Our sign-up and information night will be held in the JMUES library on Thursday November 5th at 5:30 PM until 6:30PM. A Pat’s Peak rep will be here that evening at JMUES to assist with sign-ups, questions, etc. If you want to hear their brief presentation, please arrive promptly at 5:30 PM.
Snowsports is an after-school activity that is available to all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Lessons and rentals ARE available. The program begins Thursday, January 7th and 5 consecutive weeks after that, ending on Thursday, February 4th. We leave the school by 3:15 PM and return to school around 9:00 PM.
You may use the code JMUES2027, to register for our program prior to November 30th, but please note that you will not be guaranteed transportation on our bus until Monday, November 2nd.
We have two options for transportation!
Option 1- There is bus transportation from school to the mountain and back to school. Only 50 participants can take the rented bus (due to size and cost), and the cost is $155. This is a “luxury” bus where gear is stored beneath, there is a bathroom and the students can complete homework on the bus! Getting a spot on the bus is determined through a lottery-type system, which you will submit an entry for on the form below! Payment will be due on our information night, which is on Thursday, November 5th. All entries for a spot on the bus must be submitted by 11:59 PM on FRIDAY October 30th. The lottery system will be done on Sunday November 1st and families will be notified by the end of the school day on Monday, November 2nd. **Please note the change from last year: All students requesting bus transportation will be entered into the lottery. Students registered for lessons will be selected first. If spots remain, students who are free skiing will then be selected. Having a Pats Peak season pass does not count as being registered for lessons. All names are entered into a generic name picker and it spins and selects from the entries. If your student’s name is picked in the lottery, you will be responsible for making the payment at information night on Thursday, November 5th between 5:30 PM and 6:30PM. You may send someone else with your cash or check if you are unable to make it that night. If you do not make the payment by that night the spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list. If your student is not picked in the lottery, you will be notified about being on the waitlist.
Option 2- Your child can participate and sign-up for lessons or lift tickets as well as rentals and you can provide transportation or find others to carpool with.

Veterans Day is Coming
Hello, Jaguar families!
Veterans Day is quickly approaching, and we would like to honor the Veterans who are connected to the JMUES community. We will be creating a Wall of Heroes here at JMUES by displaying pictures of Veterans who are connected to our JMUES students and staff. We would love for as many families to participate in honoring our Veterans! If you are a Veteran or would like to feature a Veteran on our Wall of Heroes, please complete the form linked here: Veterans Day Assembly Form and upload your photo(s).
In addition to uploading a Veteran photo, if you are a Veteran or would like to invite a close family member who is a Veteran, we welcome you to attend our school wide assembly on Tuesday, November 10th at 9:30 AM in the All Purpose Room (APR). Please RSVP at the bottom of the form.
Please note, if you submitted a photo of a Veteran last year for a current 6th grader, there is no need to submit the photo again. We have it! If you have any trouble uploading your photo using the Google form, please email it directly to Adam Goodman (adam.goodman@sau26.org), and be sure to include the same information that is on the form.
Please RSVP and upload your photo by Friday, November 6th
