The time has arrived for our annual $5.00 Challenge Fundraiser! Last year we raised $30,000. This year we are working to raise $50,000 in support of our Global Excursions. Please support us by sharing the challenge with your family and friends. Our goal is for each scholar to raise at least $20 dollars and for each class to raise at least $300. We have some awesome incentives in place for scholars who raise the most money! So lets get to it! Start collecting those donations this Friday, leading up to our Challenge Day on February 7th.

Classroom Incentives:

• We have met our $300 goal as a classroom so we will receive an invitation to GLA's Mardi Gras Celebration!
• We are the class who raised the most money from our academy so we will choose 3 staff members to get pied and a parfait party.

Scholar Incentives:

• I have raised $20 for my contribution, which is my ticket to "Pie A Staff Member" special assembly.
• I have raised the highest amount of money for my academy so I will get to pie a staff member.
• I am one of the top fundraisers in the entire school so I will be invited to a Knockerball Party & "Top Fundraisers Luncheon."

Collegiate Academy Incentives

• I am one of the top fundraisers in my academy so I will be able to dress down for a week.
• 8th Grade: Our grade group raised $3,000 so we will be able to go to Dorney Park.

School Incentive:

When the school meets the $50,000 mark, Mr. Copeland will let a scholar shave his head or beard at the Pie A Staff Member Assembly

Global Excursion Deposits: To secure your child's seat on any of our 5-8th Grade excursions this year, a deposit must be paid by this Friday, January 31st. Scholars with no deposit submitted by that date will not be allowed to travel. This year we have transitioned to an online payment process. Parents can make partial or full payments by completing the steps below:

1. Log on to our school website (www.glacharter.org) and click the GLA West Tab

2. Click Select, "GLA West's Excursion Payment Page"

3. Select your scholars grade and either full or partial payment

4. Follow the steps to complete payment

Intent to Travel Slips: In addition, all traveling scholars must submit an Intent to Travel Slip. All 5-8th grade scholars were sent home with Intent to Travel letters last week. Please sign and return them to your child's teacher ASAP (Deadline: January 31st) . If you have questions or concerns regarding deposits and/or Intent to Travel slips, please contact Mrs. Askew at laskew@ga-schools.org.

Parent Chaperone Applications: Parents interested in chaperoning any of the 5-8th grade excursions must complete and submit a chaperone application by January 31st. Applications were distributed at the last excursion meetings. If you are interested in chaperoning and did not receive an application, please email Mrs. Askew at laskew@ga-schools.org.

LiveSchool checks are being sent out each Friday. Please be sure to check our your scholars paycheck and have a conversation with them.
